Lol don't get butt hurt and start defending the SBC, I used to think they were great until I discovered Gen III+ motors. I know the aren't designed to go 6k rpm, which is why they are a useful boat anchor unless built.

Technology ftw.

That aside, you have a nice third gen sir. Just needs moar LS1.

Yeah, if they were self tapping screws. There is no better way to make a bolt on cowl look good, One day when I stop buying go fast parts I'll get a glass hood.

I think he said it was $12 or something like that.

I dunno, my 92 ran 8.2@ 82MPH and 7.40@ 88MPH on a 100 shot. Nothing more than a set of long tubes with duals and an adjustable FPR. 120K miles on it 350 5speed

ive got a 7.7 1/8th at 94mph IROC

ran this with a crappy mail order tune....never got a dyno tune.

might have dipped into the high 6's with my 100 shot and a good tune.

I moved the Borla, and rear suspension and MSD stuff over to my Trans Am

Well I would hope with some afr 195s it would do a 7.7 1/8. I did an 8.00 1/8 with 180cc brodix and an xtreme energy comp cam so you probably got more room for improvement. How do you like the stealth ram? I'm carbureted now but the price of a stealth ram drove me away from fuel injection

oh hell yeah! there was plenty of room for improvement. I was just running a conservative mail order tune and never got an other one.

Stealth ram was good...I just never got the full potential out of it cause im out of the 3rd gen world and jumped over here with my TA.

IROC is sitting in the garage ....lookin for a buyer

I might be in the minority but I'm a little confused how he was "owned." He joined a forum and was humble at first, then the rest of the forum trolls him relentlessly? You trolled him enough to get a rise, then challenge to a race and he actually showed when he clearly didnt have a chance? Good job internet badasses, you PWNED him.

Rather than trolling him maybe suggest some tasteful improvements?

So the guy has a hard time mentally conceptualizing the power difference between his beloved IROC and the completely advanced cars made today, and trusted a dumb app on the isheeple.
Judging by his vocabulary and demeanor prior to the trolling, he seems to just simply - not know.
I'm sure there are plenty of ways to nicely show him the difference and educate him in a respectful manner.
Rather than trolling him out on a forum like a fleet of shrimp boats, which is vastly more ignorant and immature than him defending a car he simply loves.
Also, as stated by Zee, with his potential training and possible PTSD - he could have rolled up all smiles and baited you guys into a hail of bullets before you'd have the slightest clue wtf was going on.
Aside from all of that, the least you can do is respect his sacrifice - no matter how big or small.
For all you know he could have been in some dirka-dirka **** hole for months or years on end and that mullet machine of an IROC could have been his one happy thought. I'm not stating that's his case, merely 'pointing to the other side of the fence' so to say.

He started off fine and no one really rode his **** that hard...until he couldn't take a little noob bashing. That's when **** when downhill.

Car is now for sale actually. http://stlouis.craigslist.org/cto/2436744835.html

He deleted the ad.

Man y'all got pretty ruthless with him. Gotta admit though, I laughed at the best car built by America. And laughed harder when he said he was going outside to blow it up.

I probably would've fucked with him, but then pm'd him and gave him some advice. At least a link to thirdgen.org. Or maybe some advice on a lsx swap.

LOL @ the vid. Christ y'all are crazy for riding a combat vet's *** like that, and then meeting him in public. That "hoosier" would get in trouble with the law in Texas. It's illegal here to watch a street race.

I'm not 3rd gen expert, but the bold is what I see wrong.

AFAIK 3rd gens never came in 350 and T5, only an A4 (700r4?) So if you've never even been in your own car to know that much, you probably haven't run it down a track.
