Photogs Enter
I just started to play around with this editing software, and just grabbed a random image and started playing with it. What do you think? This is my first try
Photoscape is what I used, I touched up the Shapeness, and color hue only a little bit...I didn't wanna go crazy.
Here is the original
Go ahead and be blunt, I'd rather have the truth. I am just doing this for fun, I only have a Cannon ISX10is Camera so nothing super fancy or anything.

For whatever reason, the two pics you posted look like they are cell phone quality.

Bring the Truth...
1st shot is a great location but don't try the crazy magazine cover angle shots. It works on the cover of a mag when its a rolling shot with movement.. anywhere else its just annoying. Keep the horizon level. Another thing to look out for is the background and foreground.. in the first shot the foreground with the gravel and grass is distracting from the graffiti and the car.
2nd shot is just OK. If the camera was on the tripod it would be sharper there is motion blur in it. location is not bad though. Try different angles.. lay on the ground.. stand on a ladder. Don't be afraid to crop the shot and try all kinds of stuff when processing... extreme to mild.
here is a quick edit I did with both shots.. (I hope you don't mind.) It will really bring the points home.
the first shot with no extreme tilt and cropped.
a quickie done with Photoshop CS2. Just playing with color Curves layeres on each other and cropping.
For sure though better software would help!!! I use either GIMP or photoshop CS2 (yeah its old but it works!) A better camera will help with image quality but I'm thinking the photo software is causing a good deal of the grainy look to these shots more than the camera so I'd not get a new one now. A lot can be overcome with a good eye and solid camera practices. Hope this helps!

Decrease your shutter speed for the night shot, and take it from a tripod. Also it seems like you're ISO might be too high, hence the grain.
For the day time shot shoot on A mode, and lower your aperature. Those simple adjustments should help. Also once you get a more advanced tool like PS, shoot in RAW
