Default GoPro Help

Got a HD Hero GoPro camera and have made a few videos with it, the only problem is my windows movie player is not playing the sound. I went to the GoPro site and it provided a link to a free VLC media player download for the HD camera from this site www.videolan.org/vlc . GoPro Help saids the download will then let me download a mp4 format and the sound should work.

Has anyone else done this? The GoPro website is providing the link for the download so it should be safe right?

Thanks,

N2

How about a good editing software for it? That's the real question! Lol

Any ideas on how to proceed? I want to post videos like this except ones with the camera attached to the car!

Mine messed up a lot using windows movie editor as well.

I could get the sound to work most of the time (other than the last 15-20 seconds of every video) by using "Any Video Converter" and converting the mp4 into I *think* an .ASF file? That one seemed to keep the quality, size, and frame rate the same as original footage, then edited in windows.

I would like to know a better program as well.

Sony Vegas and Adobe Premier are the best.

I cant even tell if mine is recording or not lol. I put it on the car, turned it on, and clicked till I saw the movie camera. I hit the top button to record? Any help would be appreciated so I can use this damn thing some more instead of it just sitting in my room. Sorry for the thread jack man!

I was hoping someone had followed the free download that GoPro provided on their website.

I tried mine for the first time over the weekend and found that the SD media makes quite a difference

The Class 4 SandDisk I use with my Canon DSLR would only work in 720p/30fps mode on the GoPro, so I picked up a Class 10 PNY card and now it works in all modes....

As for editing, I wasn't able to use the MP4 files in Vegas Video, so I had to convert each of the files to .mov files first.

The raw MP4 files played fine WMP, but I'd only get audio when using Vegas

I tried converting the files to AVI's and again, they played fine in WMP, but then I only got video (no audio) when I opened them up in vegas

Anyhoo, I used YouTube Downloader to convert the files

A bit time consuming (especially in 1080p), but it works

That's odd, my Vegas takes the GoPro files just fine. I'm on Vegas 10, what are you using.

Adobe Premiere Pro CS5, no converting needed, just import files and edit.

Yes, the VLC player is a well recognized and safe player to download.

How much for that setup? Is there a version for the 'consumer' that is not as expensive as a 'professional' version?
