Hurricane Irene Flooding Photos & Video - Trans Am Too
So we had approx 8" of rain and wind gusts to 55 MPH from Hurricane Irene. My g/f and I spent the night at a co-workers house for a hurricane party him and his fiancee were having. These photos are from today as we left. The photos are taken in Chadds Ford / West Chester, Belmont Hills, and near the Art Museum and Water Works in Philly. Video included as well:

From what I understand the east coast isn't very protected or used to hurricanes hitting? I live bout an hour from Galveston Texas and every once in a while we get a good one through here lol.
Hope you and your friends/family are all ok and didn't lose anything or have anything destroyed!

Texas is jealous of the rain yall got the Gulf coast states at least have a prayer to the rain. There is another storm that just developed on the African coast and its heading west north west so there still is hope!

It was a bad storm but not as bad as predicted in most areas. The river crests seemed to be a few inches to a few feet below the original estimates. Take as much rain as you like, Texas!
The last hurricane or T/S we had that caused issues like this was Tropical Storm Floyd in 1999. Most all of our flood records are from that storm, though some were set in this past storm.

You guys should see what happened to Vermont with just 7" of rain. The whole state basically washed away:
