Arrow In-car video of my 179 mph TX Mile pass in Z06

I ran the C6 Z06 at the Texas Mile yesterday. Only got 2 runs in, then packed it up and drove home. The wait was 3-4 hours between passes. 16 mph head wind kept everyone a little slower than expected. Temps 85F and sunny.

This pass was made in full street trim, on the 20" HRE wheels and Nitto Invo tires. As you can see in 1st/2nd, there were some traction issues. haha

Mods summary: Maggie TVS2300, American Racing 1-7/8 long tube headers with cats. The rest of the car is stock. LMR did the dyno tuning.

Nice run, how fast can you run without a cage in the car and did that bump at the end feel as bad as it looked at that speed?

Two main bumps on that track, one near the 1/4-mile and the worse one after the finish line. Yes, that helmet cam is a very accurate viewpoint of how it looks going down the track. The surface isn't that smooth or even, vehicle gets a lot of movement.

Great run, Tony! She sounded like she spun a little even in the top of third...with that maggie and long tubes, how much are you making at the rear tires?

619 rwhp, similar torque. Probably closer to 600 rwhp heat-soaked.

Cars attempting speeds at or over 190 mph must have a four-point roll bar at minimum. I really don't see how that can be enforced though. I can easily say that my car will run about 180 mph and then run 200. I highly doubt they're turning away Bugatti owners because of them not putting cages in their cars.

BTW... I'm sure you Camaro guys will be happy to know that a Camaro holds the current record at 244.5 mph... that is at least until this past weekend's results are published.

Great run Tony the car looks beautiful like always..
Did you ever run the Viper or the CTSV?

Hennesey's wagon V ran great numbers I was very surprised from it with only 630rwhp

Viper went 180 (no boost in 5th gear due to rpm drop w/ 3.09 gearing)
CTS-V went 167

Hennessey's wagon makes 630 rwhp with just the blower/cam/bolt-ons. He also had a nitrous kit (probably 125-150 shot) on top of that setup for the mile. There were a handful of other V's there in the 600 rwhp range running 170s.

Yeah that's what I thought no way 630rwhp 4000+lbs wagon will run 180+mph
in a mile.
One last thing have ever raced your Viper vs your ZO6? I'm curious since both have very similer MPH at the mile.

From a 60-140ish roll, the Z06 put a car and a half on the Viper. Z06 jumps out a car length instantly with the blower and better gearing, Viper tries to catch up but has to shift earlier each gear (6K vs 7K). Viper ran 180 at the mile, but 5th gear was a dog and it was out of boost due to the low rpm drop. I have a new transmission for it now, better 5th/6th ratios. In 4th gear pulls, the Viper will edge out the Z06 a tiny bit.
