New driver and the 8 was brake boosting, made for some tight races.

how fast are these cars in the quarter mile? Ive started seeing a couple in town and i dont really know much about these cars. I really need to get my lt1 cammed!

They are fast as ****. In 100% stock form they aren't anything impressive. Low 13's with a good driver... average driver more like 13.5 or so. Trap low 100's... However, with very little modifications they can roll hard especially if they are set up to run on E85.

Is that for the evo 8 or 9? Thats not as bad as i thought though. Ive heard times from mid 12s to low 14s everywhere ive searched. I guess ill keep from running them untill i get my build going lol

Low 13's is pretty standard for both. The 9 might be a 10th or two of a second faster thanks to a few minor improvements in the motor and turbo design. However, as stated, it takes next to nothing to bump the power up a lot on these. For example, mine has a turbo-back exhaust, intake, boost controller, and a tune and its making 305whp on CBRD's mustang dyno. This dyno is known for being a heartbreaker and tends to read about 230-240whp with stock Evo 9's.

The 8 is getting close to needing a clutch. As for how fast they are, my GTO w/ my shitty driving skills is about even with the 8. As for the 9, I have no idea.

9's driven right run deep in the lower 13's, 8's higher 13's....that's bone stock, better get modding lol

My stock Turbo stock intercooler. Car with GSC1 Cams and E85 runs 12.0 at 117mph running out of 4th gear at the end of the traps.

No launch control in these cars. There is tunable 2 step, but not a true launch control. Evo's also have tunable no lift shift, and the computer can hold two tunes so you can have a 91 tune and a E85 tune thats switchable with out a labtop.

Well If the 9 wasent brake boosting it makes a HUGE difference off the hit. After that the vid shows the 9 stoppin the pull. So both brake boosting would be alot different.
