Camaro vs Trans Am race caught on video by cops
Not sure if this is a repost but I found this hilarious. Saw this racing video on YouTube and about :10 seconds in they make a joke about the helicopter filming them. "There's the helicopter. He's comin' to get us. Heh."

This is one of the recommended videos off to the side. Oh the irony...

Looks like a run way to me!!!!!
$1,000,000 helicopter, 3 Cops at $22 an hour, $300 in fuel, one perfectly safe race caught.
Sound good to me!! REally sucks since the one guy got his *** handed to him and a ticket.

That's what I was thinking, I hope they didn't get too much of a fine for this!

I thought one of the weirdest things about the video is the date on the police video is 7/12/2009 and it was uploaded to YouTube by a random user on 7/23/2009.
How did that turn around so fast?

This video makes me angry.. If somethin happens the only people who would have gotten hurt are the people racing. What PD in Nebraska has nothin else better to do with their time?I think they should have flew the helicopter down and thanked them for doin it in a safe place...

Agreed with all the above, this is a total waste of police resources. To think that there's big cities in this country with real crime to deal with that are laying off cops right now because of budget shortfalls, when some towns are wasting tax dollars looking for kids street racing in a perfectly safe area. This country needs to get real. Oh **** it, we're already doomed.

It may be illegal, but this state gives us no other option unless we are able to travel 4 hours. We have had people willing to front the money for a strip longer than I've been alive and the city/state keep rejecting the proposition.
This happened in Lincoln, NE. in July 2009. This was a day that we had been planning for roughly 3 months, in which we had a rival city down to race their cars against ours. We had been racing for about 4 hours when we were finally busted. I found out later that this was "safety weekend" in which they had the Omaha, NE helicopter in Lincoln. This happens once a year.
My ticket consisted of "Willfull Wreckless" "Racing on a Public Roadway".
This for some reason made huge news on Monday, then on Tuesday the police went on the record saying how much of a danger we were to the public and blah, blah, blah. I called a local news channel and told them I would do an interview. I basically stated how much this town needs an outlet for us car enthusiasts and that street racing wasn't going to cease until there is one. The end of the interview went like this. "Will you continue to do it (street race)",reporter. My response, " Guaranteed".
The guy in the black Talon hired a lawyer and he got the Willfull Wreckless dropped. My ticket was the max of $500
