I just talked a guy last night who has a 454 70 chevelle. Says he makes 500 and can beat a 600cc bike and a 1000cc might have a chance. But he is only hoping to trap 115 in the 1/4. Told me to get a stage 2 cam. I told him Idk what a stage 2 cam is. I just know cam specs. I'm gonna run him this summer.

The 1970 Chevelle SS454 was rated at 450 hp from the factory. According to wikipedia the record trap speed set by one in 1970 was 106 mph. So his numbers may not be too far off.
Either way the only bikes I think he'll be beating are the ones lacking the driver mod.

Back in 2004 I think? I bought the bone stock Firehawk when I was up in the middle of nowhere North Dakota. Late one night at a bar/club and several beers I hear out of left field, " That Firehawk ain't ******* ****!" Needless to say I was pulled from one conversation and taken into another. I kind of knew the guy from around work but not personally. He had a claimed 383ci LT1 stuffed into a 3rd gen Camaro. Cant remember to much from his **** talking but I vaguely remember him saying he had a bigger mas air flow sensor. Any how so we set up a race day on an empty Sunday morning back country road... 2 days later we meet up at a gas station. I was ready to go but had to wait because he was uploading a tune from a lap top?.. Run one from 50-100? He jumped before he pushed the 3rd horn, I was about a 1/2-full car length behind slowly gaining but we shut it down... 2nd run same 50mph start, both jumped at about the same time and I was slowly pulling away.. 3rd run from 20mph I took him by maybe 1.5-2 car lengths from what my buddy in the passenger seat said.. I asked him to race from a dig and I remember him saying, " My car bogs down in 1st gear". My un-thought quick reply, " Guess you should learn how to drive your car!" ... All in good fun, i won my case of beer . ... I'm not claiming to be a race car driver by any means for the record

I guess once you (he) get humiliated, you develop a language of your own? What does that even mean?

I can translate "I'm not going to race uphill", to "If you thought I was slow on a flat straight surface...then you haven't seen **** yet."

That first roll looked like what, 20mph? I didn't know they had 2500 rpm pills as an option. Lol

Regardless, great vid!!!

Slow down Wiki, an LS6 454 was rated at 450hp (under-rated for insurance reasons), and not every 454 Chevelle got one. Most had the LS5. Beyond that, we don't know what mods are done to the BBC, and as most know, a properly built BBC can make a lot more than 500hp.

I do agree that he won't be beating too many bikes with 500hp, maybe some bad riders, but that's where it would end.

Depending on the heads that he used it is very possible. I doubt he was doing any of the wrenching. I know I wouldn't if I had the $$

Funny all the stories, then on the other hand, you have a very small breed like my co-worker that are a complete 180 from those mentioned in this thread. The guy has a 556HP CTS-V, a 73 Vette, and a Supercharged Roush mustang and he doesn't even mention them at all, even during car conversations. He's got two small kids and car seats in the back of all of them!

Cool guy, but does the opposite of bragging - hell, you wouldn't even know what he drives if you didn't see him pull into the parking lot with them. Getting car info out of him is hard to. Odd, I know, lol. If I had his CTS-V, EVERYONE would know!

I do respect his ability not to mention his cars or the power they make. I've never heard him make any claim to any of his cars, come to think of it.

I got a dumb look from a couple import guys when they asked me what my car made at a cruise night last night. They thought I was on crack because I make 700whp on pump gas(e85).

They didn't believe you because you have no JDM parts, Nawwwsss stickers, or a tow hook coming out the front of your TA. Sorry to tell you, these are all requirements by Tuner law to make over 400 hp. They all went home and laughed at your claim, giving each other hugs saying, "he must have been lying, no domestic can make that much power without Naaawwwwssss."

Sorry, couldn't resist

lol, ain't that the truth. I do have some mad hella tight jdm'ish type parts. I have a blox vacuum manifold block and some boomba racing checkvalves just because that's all I could find in a pinch. Whenever buying stuff meant for civics and nissans it always seems to be packed with stickers and crap. I got one of those yellow and green jdm keyrings too.
