that first pic is on the other link someone just posted and it says that it is actually two spiders attatched together that's why it looks like one huge one.

Three spiders live in my bedroom, all in cages...

the biggest living known spider is the Goliath bird-eater (Theraphosa Leblondi ), it gets to the size of a LARGE dinner plate and yes, it does eat birds as prey! 13in leg spread

yup, i started to post that as i read your post, if you look closely the mouths/pincers are clamped to one another and there are 16 legs total, good call!
