Returned to my roots...
My first car ever was a 1997 Mustang GT coupe. It was slow (seemed fast then), obnoxiously loud and overall a pretty big POS. I lost it in a way that I'm still upset about regardless of what I think of it looking back, but then purchased a MINT '00 Civic EX coupe. Still have it and awaiting a heart transplant (thanks dad!)... Bought a '98 Z28 A4 when the Civic went down and it was hands down the best car I've ever owned. Sold it for no reason and have regretted it since then. But recently I returned to my roots and bought another '97 Mustang, this time a Cobra:

Very nice. My first car was a red '96 3.8 and my second was a white '95 5.0. I've always had a thing for Mustangs. That car looks awesome on those FR500s, especially with the miles.

Thanks everybody! And it's at least faster than a stock LS1, even some lightly modded so I definitely wouldn't call it slow. With just a BBK O/R H and FRPP 4.10's it ran consistent 8.5's @ anywhere from 87-89mph spinning pretty bad.
It's down for a bit right now with a bottom end knock, but once it's back to health it should be a little quicker. I'm adding a BBK O/R X, Flowmaster Super 10 Series mufflers, Flowmaster 2.5" tailpipes, a Steeda Tri-Ax shifter, and SCT handheld to it while it's down. And new street tires as well, but I have M/T ET Drag slicks for it for the strip!
I think you're the first person, here or elsewhere, who think it's ugly, but thanks! The '94-98 style is definitely a love it or hate it thing.
Edit: No sway99bird, I do not have pictures of my old '97 GT unless they're still up through a for sale ad (I'll look). It had something like 140k miles so it wasn't anything special. Mostly stock save for a UPR O/R X and SCT handheld.

I realize that the 4.6 is a lot different than the pushrod 5.0, but i know that 5.0 is maybe even with a stock ls1... and it has a pretty mean sounding cam in it along with some heads.

I had a 94 gt,i really liked that car, full bolt ons,h/c procharged, rio red with chrome fr500s,but my fav part was the svo side exhaust, spoiler delete, cowl hood, drove like a stock car and ran in the 12s,which was quick for back in the day,i like stangs ,with a built bottom end and some boost it should run pretty good, just n/a there not all that, but ya could get a blower pretty cheap for that car,i always wanted to get another one and do a 03cobra swap,or a 5.3 turbo build, love the style of the car just after having a ls car it would be real hard to go back to a stang, and guys of course he had to say its faster than a stock ls1,he switched sides lol unless he gets crazy with it he will be back lol, nice car though
