Hello everyone... I've been around here almost a year now. I've been fascinated with the 98-02 Trans Am when it first came out and I finally bought one last June. I had an accident with it back in December and hit a damn deer. Got a good payout from my insurance company and since I do bodywork and painting for a living i was finally able to personalize this car as my own.
I've been a big J-body guy for over a decade. I know I know but I had a lot of fun over those years and retired from that scene with this baby...

It was a 2000 Z24 with a custom sunfire front end including a one off rksport hybrid bumper and projector headlamps. The biggest feature on the car was an Eaton M62 powered LD9. The car really ripped around. Sadly though I blew the engine by throwing rod #3 right before I bought the Trans am.
Quick pic of the engine...

But this thread isn't about that car. I've always been a big Pontiac and GM fan in general. Muscle cars from old to new its an obsession of mine. So heres my dream car finally realized. Many more years of modifying and fun to follow with this car. Just some quick stats... Its not a WS6, just a T/A. M6 car with headers, volant ram air, superhawk hood... much more.
Let the pics do the speaking...

I forgot to mention and I think its the biggest thing about this car is the paintjob. Its hard to tell in these pics but I repainted the thing Black Diamond tri-coat from the Cadillac CTS. Heres a close up...

The emblems on the fenders came from Hawks Third Gen. For the front bumper I molded the center plate in and got a vinyl overlay from ebay to put on top of the bird.
The radio was quite simple actually. I had to cut some plastic out from underneath the dash where the radio goes and I made my own brackets out of steel to mount it. Thanks to 6LE I bought one of their bezels to put over top for a clean look.

Thank you... There really wasn't a whole lot to do to the T/A to make it how I wanted it. The thing with a car like that is that its already a perfect car in the looks department. The thing with a hybrid cavalier/sunfire... is that they need a lot of work from the stock form. That bumper was a discontinued fiberglass bumper from RKSport and I've always loved it. But I needed to get more air to the intercooler so i grafted in a set of G6 grilles which were twice the size of the original openings.
