Steamed Rice Not a drag race, but it still shows a lot of rice getting cooked by an old Trans Am. Enjoy. First one down is an EVO about 100 seconds in, a Spec Miata, a Honda Civic with lots of aero, and two Lotuses (being driven WAY too sedately on a road course), then @ 6:30 in, an Audi TT and a Supra.

No offense taken. The paint is the main ingredient that causes the car to be under-estimated by a lot of people. The funny thing is that the long block is an internally stock LS1 from a base Corvette.

damn man nice job all around! I sense a track instructor in our midst? You hit most of your apex's perfectly and gave the impression that the ones that weren't perfect it was done casually (ie on purpose). Braking points were well ironed out and traffic/passing lines were used like you knew them in your sleep. Your video could well be an instructional video on how to safely go fast in a open track day setting. I'd love to run with you in a similar setup car.

The general experience here (Joliet Autobahn, track day run by a group called GPS Track Time) was safe and fun. Only a couple cars plowed grass, and nothing truly stupid happened. No egos got in the way. I've had a variety of experiences at the track, and this was one of the better ones. I would certainly come back again.
I'm really liking the way this old beast is shaping up. A couple years ago, it was plagued with braking and rear axle problems and there was no way it would have been this good. it was an absolute pain to keep on the track. Now, we're down to adjusting tire pressure and shock dampening and that's it. Drive the car like you stole it, and if you hit something, a can of shaky-ball primer will cover up the scratches

nice, id love to go to a track day once in my life. However my 99 is on stock suspension and compared to my 96 it feels like **** when driving hard in corners and such on the road. Good video and the apexs were definetley really well taken.
Wish i had the mentality of the rattle an haha. My cars paint looks like crap and it drives me nuts, should be getting new paint on it next year so i can finally washa nd wax the thing with pride. Totally get it though they dont expect it and if it doesn't bother you you get kudos from me haha.

Great video! Really hoping I get a chance to throw the slicks on the Grand Sport this summer and make a few laps at the closest track I have (3 hrs away
