Oh, and 80 "bottles" of nitrous later.

Hmm. Who would believe this ridiculous nonsense???

Where in the world did you get the info that a 5.3 LS based truck engine was called an LT1...? lol...

Are you saying where did I get the idea that this 5.3L LT1 is similar to the 5.7L LS1 released the year after? Same hydraulic lifters, same 7.4" pushrods, many identical parts. LT has the exact parts of an LS in various places.

Maybe I am not understanding your question?

I'm pretty sure he is asking, why are you calling it a LT1?

I thought the 5.3's were called LM7's?

the 5.3 is an LS style truck motor and is not even close to a LT. gen II LT1's were made between 92-97 while the 5.3 LS motors are 1999+ and are only found in full size pickups/SUVs (and some Colorados) and are LM7, L59, LM4, and L33

5.3 LM7. Cheap and stout. Some have gone 8's in the 1/4 with them on yellowbullet with a lot of boost on stock motors, the only thing being upgraded are the cam and valve springs. Blow it up and get another used junkyard 4.8/5.3 replacement for less than 500 bucks.
