Cleaned Up The G8
Been in a bit of an automotive slump lately. Bought a house and had no motivation to work on or even clean my cars. Finally got some motivation last weekend and cleaned up the G8 a bit and took it out to check out a car show and local cruise. Had a great time, hoping this marks the end of the slump lol.
Just took a few pictures with my iPhone, thanks for checking them out!

Thanks! I almost bought them in "Black Platinum", which is like a dark chrome, but I'm glad I went with the silver. I will say, my friend has them in chrome on his silver Cobra and the chrome goes great with the silver car.
It has been a pita finding lug nuts for them. The holes are very narrow and it's hard to find ones that will work in this thread pattern. I just have some cheap ones on there for now and they are starting to rust.

Thanks! Yeah, I used to post in there all the time and had a great time racing and sharing the videos. I don't really mess around on the street much now. Not enough fun anymore for all the drama involved. Gone are the days of racing someone and then talking about the cars/mods after. These days people want a full mod list, dyno sheet, timeslips, picture of the car on a scale, and a list of what you ate that day before they will determine whether they have enough chance of winning to risk a race.
I do still have the Z28, but it's been off the road since 2010, when the timing chain broke and I sold the engine. I don't really have a plan for it yet, but I do like the idea of getting a junkyard 6.0 for cheap and using it to learn how to tune.
Here's the Z back when it was still terrorizing:

I'm right there with you man. I used to be a staple of our street race community, but after having too many close calls with the law and the aforementioned FBI analysis of car mods and all of that, I really just prefer the track. Even then, it has been a long time. These days, a freeway on-ramp is about all the fun I have in my cars. Good enough for me to be honest. I just like tinkering until I can get back to the track.
Hope you get the Z back on the road soon. Mine has had 100 miles put on it in the last 3 years I would guess. I have plans for it, but getting engaged has been a temporary halt to the process. At least I have the SS to cruise as a nice stock daily driver. Not as nice as your G8 but it keeps me satisfied. Keep us updated though and glad to see you still have the hot rods!

It's funny, I love having the G8 so that I can still cruise, even with the Z28 being down. At the same time though, it's hindering progress on the Z. Why spend big money on a car that's nowhere near seeing the road when I can spend a little here and there tinkering with the one I can drive right now, haha.

That's the exact problem I have with the SS. The Z is better long term, but the short term gratification of some mild bolt ons for the SS seems so much easier. Haha. I'll figure it out one day. I have a buddy's 19 year old son that has an LS1 SS I'd love to stomp with my LT1, but that takes money from MY LS1 car. Rough life I suppose.
