I wonder if he was spraying? He looked over at me with a **** eating grin for some reason...like he won or something. It was "misting" out too so that didn't help a whole lot. I don't know. 3rd gear is where the bus lengths start happening anyway.
It's definitely not a myth about the IRS grenading. It's not really about ET or mph though. The 60' time tells the tale. I can run an 11.50 on a 1.8 60' and my IRS will be fine. Dump the clutch off the limiter trying to pull a 1.5 60 will pop the rear end in a second. Plenty of guys are running low to mid 11's on a stock IRS. It's all about how you get out of the hole. Wheel hop is an IRS killer too.

Probably just blow the welds off the intake...Fast and Furious style.
Honestly, I'm not sure. I'll find out...
Ok so if you stay away from killing it to get great 60fts on slicks your cool, thats alot better than the 10 bolts

I'll find out...[/
I hope you dont find out

I'm more concerned with mph than a great ET. I'll settle for 1.6-1.7 60's since I do mostly street racing. I can still hit 10's on 1.6 60's so that's cool with me.

Me personally...nope. The front end weighs a friggin' ton. I get a bunch of wheel spin still. Maybe a slick would hook well enough to pull the wheels. I won't test the stock IRS with slicks though.

edit: There's a guy around here who's pulled the wheels on the street though. I didn't believe it until I saw the vid.

Probably some dumbass kid that just got his license with a stock LT1 and a 100-shot thinking he actually had enough ***** to pull an '03.

Good question. I've been considering running ET Street and skinnies up front for the summer and my Kumho Ecsta 712's in the winter. A slick will pop my IRS.

Unit, you are probably going to have to change that rear end out. That is an obscene ammount of power. No wonder you cannot keep her in a straightline.
