But still the lt1's seem very unimpressive unless they have internal work, which then they have great potential.
If 12.4 is impressive for you, than LT1s are absolutely impressive without internal work. There are quite a few stock internal LT1s running 11s with ease.

a stock lt1 can run a 12.4 it's called RX7. I'm figuring about that since a stock ls1 did 11s already.

This is impressive, (buying the same exact parts that run up others MUCH more for supposedly less) not taking out a traction less cutout car.

i can have a $2000 car for free, don't have **** to do with performance though.
I don't know what your getting at really but what I meant is the LT1 was 6 grand stock and the DSM has less then 5 grand into like I said so thats what I was talking about. Bank for the buck.

Actually the green LT1 in the video was purchased for $7k if i recall. While my dsm was $900. I've had no electrical problems what so ever and no issues with crank walk. The big issue with the crankwalk in '95 was, that was when they stoped making talons and eclipses in the Diamond MotorSports factory and started to use a USA spec for the bottom ends. Mitsubishi tried to lighten up the bottom end of these "2nd gen 7bolt engines" and in result they had a problem with the thrust bearing which can possibly initaily end up damaging the crank. I my selft have not expeirienced any of these problems with the car in the video or the other 3 dsm's i've owned prior. The reason every one thinks they are POS's is because most people put parts on them and beat the hell outa them. A 12 yr. old car requires some maintainence. But as for the tranny insight, yes my 2nd and 3rd gear snycro's are starting to give me trouble but i still don't think that's bad for original trans with 151,5**miles.
I'm sure bolt on lt1's run 11's with ease, but my dsm is doing mid 12's with ease on a tired 151,000 mile engine, trans, and STOCK TURBO...full interior.

Yalll forget the main point, it's still a f'in DSM.

If you want to go fast put a SBC in an old 280z. $5k you'll be sitten with really really fast car....what 1200lbs in the rolling chassis? still a car minus looks, class and charisma. anybody can have a car with with a hoss of a motor, but what are we goin for? race car? daily driver? show/street/strip?

^^POINT.

My LT1 will run him....i got A "bolt on" in the mail as we speak.

What the hell are you talking about; this is just an opinion, but i think that my clean 93 dsm has much more looks than an old HURTING 280. Class maybe not as much because its' known as for what it is "An old mitsubishi product" which in return makes it the underdog and people can't get enough of it at the track...heh hmm...Charisma? This car performs and is meant for the track, street, strip, daily driver on occasions but not quite show. Nissan's are really cool for drifting, but AllWheelDrive is a whole different world.

Bring your LT1 and your new bolt on. Come get some

"12.4 on street tires?" with AWD is that supposed to be good? there's hondas doing better than that out there sorry.

good job having more mods.

last time i checked mitsubishi was contracted to make those cars. As for the canadian statement, then we can consider dodge as a mexico company since a high percentage of their cars are made in mexico. Just giving you a little support.

lt1s have alot of potential they're are just a little more difficult to get power out of b/c of the reverse cooling. But once you throw on some AFR's a good cam and so on, a stock shortblock can run in the ll's.
