Default Bought a new 4WD Turbo-Diesel

Pretty damn nice. Very strong and surprisingly quiet. Can't wait to really work it and see what it'll do. Just hope these new emissions (this thing has a DPF, and EGR, but no DEF) don't give me a bunch of problems.

Maybe because I'm from Texas, but I like it!
Every now and then my brother and I have to rent one and he has thought about buying one, but they are a little pricey.

I also didn't know they have emissions crap on them. Crazy...

Thanks guys!

Yeah the EPA has to stick their noses in everything. Now they are regulating emissions on off-road equipment. We're up to tier4 now which mean may emissions. JD 5 series has been tier4 since 2015. This thing makes about zero smoke, and you don't smell diesel burning like an older pre-emissions diesel. Still other than lowering polution emissions suck on a diesel engine. They lower fuel economy, reliability, and up maintenance cost by a lot. Obviously a diesel doesn't use spark plugs to ignite its fuel and air but instead realize on compression for that. So when you have a high-compression/boosted motor it wants to exhale, and these emissions just bottleneck it up.

I'm already thinking about a LS swap. Probably a motor over 400 ci's. That would solve the emissions problem while making it faster at the same time.
