Default dv camera

Hope this is the right forum... I am a complete newbie to video. I just got a JVC gr dv3000u with pixela ver 1.0 software. I was excited about posting some vids etc. but the vids are (jerky?) if that makes sense. picture looks good but the vids look sh*tty to me. Is my camera not a good one or am i just doing something wrong. I see some damn good vids on this site, how can I learn to do this??? TIA

I have a jvc and love it. Except for the fact that it wont take a charge anymore. Kind of sad its allready starting to break after 5 months.
