Nice car.. sounded healthy.. but the video only showed a BURNOUT. My old honda could do a burnout.

I never was a fan of the way those looked. They're pretty tall (nearly a 4x4 in comparison to the Impala) and come with skinny tires with the lack of potential to put much larger ones on. And you're right about the torque. Even with 3.55's out back they can't bark the tires from a stop while stock. I can with lowly 3.08's. But the top end is a different story. That car was really about 10 years too late.

That car probably runs low 12's only if it's running a Eaton m112. Lots of show, not a lot of go.

To show a burnout for a marauder isn't too impressive for me, b/c the towncars, the crown vics and the mercury version are just as easy to light the tire up on. It might be a 1 tire fire, but sure is funny to see one doing it at a light next to a vette.

I wouldn't say that. There's an Imp out there running in the 9's. Several in the 10's and one in particular that's too wild to be tamed. It's the first SS with twin turbos and when he first drove it he said it was hard to hit the gas at 80 and not melt the tires. And since it is the prototype there's some tuning issues at hand and a few blown head gaskets. It'll be hard not to go low 9's with that car once it's healthy.

Hmm... Try this at the bottom right of the page.

http://www.alternativeauto.com/index.html

Crap! I always have to edit my posts b/c I forget to add some small detail. This m112 was on an otherwise stock motor. So I'm guessing the one in the video is not in stock form (pre-Eaton).

Oh yeah, the fastest Impala SS's out there . LS1 reference? Look at number 83. Me? Look down at 268.

Looks nice. Wouldn't it be cheaper to buy a Crown Vic and mod it???

lol i found it while cruising on another forum but....
They're a bunch of idiots on that forum.
So i figured i'd post it where it would most likely be appreciated for it's possible performance and not based on if:
"It B havin' doze spinnaz"
or "if dem speekuz in duh trunk be as big duh wheelz."
and the other usual -er comments that are oh-so enlightening.

Its not a terrible car, IMHO I think its pretty cool. Its not bad for a street machine, I think it has potential.

ya i dont understand why you guys knock on ford when they still have the mustang, and they still are making more dependable cars thatns gm. Im not knocking on the gm guys either, but you guys are so quick to knock, on them ford guys. Just my two cents I know im gonna get raped but I thought that i would add my opinion.

Stubbly, don't you think that it is funny that ford people are making so much of a big deal that the new GT is at 300hp. GM has been there since the remake of the SS in what 1996. But the video was pretty tight. Even if it is a ford.
