Top Gear - Pontiac GTO vs. Chrysler 300C vs. Jaguar S-Type R

I think it is funny how they completely forget the fact that the Jaguar is not n/a. "400 horsepower out of a little 4.2 liter." Um, yeah, but you forgot the supercharger. And I like how they would never mention the notion of the Vauxhual being a GTO with the steering on the other side. I don't like that show, they portray british engineering to be so much better when I don't see that it is. Besides, the jag is american built now. I quit on them.

i'm not going to watch the vid, but how could they bash an american car when none of those three are? they're comparing an australian car, a german designed car built in canada with an engine from mexico, and a british car.....

Though Jaguar is a Ford brand, the S-Type is completely UK engineered and assembled.

First off thanks for posting the vid, it's good to see how cars around the world stack up (even if the prices don't). Secondly, the piece (and the show)is undoubtably biased against American engineering. What was better about this show than the last was the fact that they actually acknowledge that the Monaro was vastly cheaper than the Jaguar (something they didn't mention about the C6). Lastly, when the hell is Pontiac going get off their asses and come out with some styling that matches the performance of the car. The Vauxhall version is definetly a starting point. Way better looking than the GTO and the way a "muscle car" should look. Do they not think that we Americans like that style of car. It's perfect, not too flashy, but still lets you know not to mess with it.

The reasons we didn't get it too is because HSV doesn't have the production capacity to produce enough for the US market and Australia (the UK is getting less than 200), and it costs nearly $50,000 US.
You could easily install the body parts and monster brakes on any Pontiac GTO here and come out ahead, which is what I'm looking at doing with a red 2005. Ian Cullum (who now works at Ford/Jaguar) styled the HSV GTO.
Top Gear isn't "biased" against US cars, the gave glowing reviews to the Cadillac CTS, and SRX, in addition to the C6 (if you watch the show regularly, they tongue-and-cheek everything, nothing is sacred, lighten up), Hummer H2 and Ford GT (which garnered the highest ratings they've ever had on, Jeremy bought one, and they still made fun of it and him).

seriously, they're over there, we're over here....who gives a flying **** what they think of us or our cars? if you own and enjoy a car that they give a bad review of, or made fun of in any way, does it really make you enjoy your car any less? if it does, you have serious issues....

Plain and simple, if u want to see a good test on American cars watch Car & Driver, or Road & Track...i think it is? i dunno i usually watch C&D. And they give good reviews on the vehicles they test. But they don't thrash them like Top Gear does.
But, who the hell tests ROAD cars on sand...Come now. I expected more from them. This is a pathetic review.

U pay here in Germany for 95 octane 1,05 € or for example 100 octane 1,20 - 1,40 € / litre. In Croatia max. 10 Cent less per litre. So arround 4 € per gallon.
