I'll remember that next time i do anything wrong, i'll simply say "what? 120mph? it's what i'm use to officer, i always drive this fast" and that'll clear everything up, right?
Boxing skills should be BASIC skills for a professional fighter, so all that "gannon was at a disadvantage" bullshit....shut up. If your a professional fighter the basic skills of boxing should be childs play. You don't just start with your opponent on the ground you know....you have to knock him down first to apply those 'oh so cool grappling skills'....hmmm with what? BASIC boxing skills, or a martial art of some sort and even those are basic boxing skills modified with kicks and such added to it.
If i were Kimbo, i would have simply shot Gannon
Because that's what i'm use to, so that makes it OK.

As far as the choking thing, he did it while STANDING. I believe that was the rules, you gotta stand, no ground fighting or kicking, which Gannon did knee him twice but stopped after Kimbo's team decided it wasn't fair, which it was. I'm surprised he didn't use the knee more often.
Face it dude, you're a closet Kimbo fan. Your reporting of the event was completely biased.

back from the hospital, thanks for your support
hi everybody, i'm just got back from the hospital, was reading the threads, am touched by the support i've gotten from so many people.
would like to clarify a few points - i don't like being accused of being a cheater, especially by people who don't have a clue what the rules actually were. we originally wanted a no rules match, but kimbos people demanded special rules to protect their fighter. we wrote a (very) short list of rules and both parties signed off on it prior to the fight. they asked for no groundwork and this was agreed to. we never agreed to no submissions, and we can't be held responsible if his team was so ignorant of our sport that they didn't realize you could do submissions standing. same with knees. they asked for no kicks and we agreed. kicks were clearly defined as "striking with any part of the shin or foot". knee strikes were completely legal. i followed the rules to the letter, but kimbos team violated them repeatedly.

WTF was with all the 302 guys jumping in like little freakin kids trying to stop the match....
Reading the rules from above, if anything Kimbo was the one who violated the rules and not Gannon.
Somebody needed to have a tazer to back those 302 guys out of the way and let the guys go at it... the fight would have been over 6-7 minutes earlier.
But that's what happens when people who most likely have large amounts of money on a fight or any competion act when they see things going bad for them.

If Kimbo was professionally trained he could compete with any fighter. Just think, Kimbo is a guy off the street who has never trained to be a professional fighter. What if he was taught how to ground fight how do you think he skills would be then?
