I forgot,,I should to the almighty Z06 owner. Woops,,I had a V6,,I guess I can't post on a message board. That's pretty pathetic you bring up the size of my old engine. That has absolutley nothing to do with anything.
I don't see how I was '**** talking' either. You say you don't want to race on slicks because that's not 'real world performance' #;s...that's one of the dumbest things I've read. If you told any racer that they would laugh in your face. I guess you'll never break into the 10's no matter how much you spend because you'll be racing on a street tire.

Every time I have seen the Z06 at the track it was NOT on slicks and was just as driven there....so I REALLY dont think that 11.6 is that bad for a ABSOLTE street car.....no massive cam, no slicks, no 1.4 60 fts, etc.....
There are a lot more than just 1 or 2 factors that determines what kind of times a car runs.......

why is everyone surprised about the skittle beating the Z06? even though i hate neons, i will give Dan props, you gotta change your name on SRT forums though. but my point being, the skittle puts down more Hp than than Z06 and has a higher power-to-weight ratio. doesnt matter if the Z06 had a TT427, if the peon puts down the same(if not more) power, the vette will lose because its heavier.

BTW...my car is 100% a street car. It even gets driven through Michigan winters. Want to see what it would do to that Z06?

I am sure your car runs great times, but not every h/c Z06 is going to run 10's because everyone does not mount 28" slicks on it and do 6500 rpm launches and/or drive it the way it deserves......
Just caint assume the car should run better than that without knowing more info on the condition, alititude, tires,....etc.
not saying you were at all....just seemed that way to me a little I guess

If that "neon" was RWD i would probably dump the T/A or convert it to the "daily driver". Unfortunatly, the fastest SRT-4 on the planet right now is still not in the 10's... Yet.

Heck, the last time at the track a Z06 with heads and cam that lost a piston still ran 11.40's @ 118. They made 4 passes like that before they had problems. When it was running well, they trapped 123 or higher.

actually red91 vet, he made 439 rwhp and could have made more if he chose more agrresvly on cam etc. He should be able to run 125 at track with slicks and good launch. He also may need better clutch to handle the extra power, but the neon is running 124+ in the 1/4 so from a roll was the only way it could hang
