Default 408" LS1 10.0 @ 138 & a 145mph shutdown pass, wheels up!

Well I finally got some videos and im still pretty stoked since it was my first time out with the 408" ls1 setup...

10.0 @ 138, half spray pass 111mph @ 1/8th
http://www.imagestation.com/album/?i...=3&mode=invite

2nd, made a full spray pass: shut the car down when it hit the rev limiter at 145 mph, 6.18 1/8th ET , 117 mph 1/8th rolled through the last 300-400 ft
Sprayed the car about 10-20 ft out where it bounced when it pulled the wheels a 2nd time when the nitrous came on! Works out to about a 9.5-6 if i wouldnt have ran out of gear and hit limiter. All in a pumpgas, great gas mileage driver, im very pleased.
10.2 @ 115 mph

Thats impressive. Put a 3.5 gear in that thing and it will mph like crazy (well more crazy LOL) . I just sold my 03 Cobra and im on the look out for a nice C4 and seeing your car makes me want to do the ls1 swap.I have a couple of questions for you.

Whats done to the D44 to get it to live?

What does is it weigh?

Is the 408 aluminum or iron?

What does it 60ft at.
Thanks
John

That thing launches and runs straight down the track without any bouncing or fighting it. You suspension setup is sweet. I used to have a 85 vette with the L98. Back then I thought it was fast. I just didnt know what fast was...lol

60 fts are always a consistant 1.40-1.42 grabbing the unit 15-30 ft out. Traction is about the best thing, the IRS hooks as hard on the street as it does at the track...I never have any complaints. Around here the street race guys have teased that it will "hook in a carwash" etc...

Stock dana 44, nothing done. Only suspension mods are taking the front sway bar off and factory replacement ($35 each) Tokico shocks.

Car weighs 3200 lbs with me in it, with the iron block 408". Car is full weight etc.

I have an 84 Corvette that I'm considering making the LS1 swap. Mine weighs 3250 without me....What changes have you made or is the ls1 block that much lighter.
