Turbo Neons are fun to waste on my way to work. I guess they're good for something after all.

Exactly, you can hate the looks but not the "out of the box", American made performance. This may be the best 4-banger ever built (in the US, for sure)

You guys are LUCKY you have LS1's. I am faster than all the "stockish" LT1's in my fbody club. My auto TA ran 13.6 stock my Neon 13.9

If you think these guys are hateful, you should see how childish the GT owners are.

Keep it civil guys, or the thread will be locked.

There's nothing wrong with expressing your dislike of a certain car, or your reasons for why you dislike it as long as you keep the discussion civil.

The guys that are arguing with LS1 owners, you should expect us to be biased towards the LS1... this is LS1 Tech after all. As far as the base price of the two cars being discussed, I priced a new Z28 in 1998 or 1999 that was $21.5k on the sticker.

When neons start running low 13's or even 15's using only 1 gear shift ( in an auto trans BTW ) with a 2:73 final drive gear, then "I'll" be impressed...nuff said.

Oh, your going to have to add a few Lbs. on that neon also, just to make it fair and all.

Squashed, Yes it,s a 75 rwd TE37. It,s not stock anymore. The car only weighs 1900lbs. How much torque do you think it takes to make it run 10,s? Not much. If you have ever seen any at the track or on TV you know what they,re capable of. I catch alot of **** from my sbc and sbf friends because it,s a yota, but they know it,s going to be one hell of a sleeper.

I've seen a few of these at the track. Usually leave the line at high revs, piercing the ears of all with high-pitched, weed-eater bumble bee revs. Seen them run 10's. Also have seen them blow engines halfway down the track.

Quick? yes. Not my cup of tea however. To each his own.

There used to be a guy running around in Newport News, VA that had a turbo 4-cyl in a Pinto or something really light. It looked like a shitbox, but ran great!
