it didn't matter for the majority of people, they wouldn't have had a whole lot of time to react.....500mph waves don't give you much time to pack up, although the sunbathers woulda pry been able to at least make it to higher ground....over 1million people without homes.......a 9.0 earthquake is freaking nuts!

Unhappy

This video was shot in Thailand wow that was probably pretty much how it looked everywhere, depending on depth of the ocean floor at impact....

The footage I've seen so far is weak as ****. I guess if you were at the right(wrong) location to get the amazing shots, then you 're already dead.

Yea, this will go down as one of the worst disasters in human history! No doubt that there will be 100,000+ thousand killed! Just imagine 100+ September 11ths in one day. Very sad time in history.

I am getting quite annoyed about all the foreign leaders (like the under-secratary general of the UN) saying we (America) aren't giving enough money...

Maybe the government isn't giving as big percentage as France, but unlike the French, American citizens like to donate themselves and not have relief funds forcebly taxed on us and then given.

I'm glad you noticed what a douche this Egeland guy is. Apparently, giving the most Govt. and private donations every year isn't enough for the UN. I can see where he appreciates the relative generosity of France's donation, but this ******* actually advocated a tax increase so the US could give more. Egeland is, at best, a **** poor PR man.

Nope, I haven't seen enough. I understand that you don't need a 100ft wall of water to do damage. All I said was that I hadn't seen anything more than 3-5ft storm surges resulting in zero damage to infrastructure. Just enough to carry a few cars off and clean the streets.

just enough to kill 50k+ people..........it wasn't just the "wave" that you are seeing, it's the water level rising up to 60ft. + the little white caps and riptides in the videos........water rushing through the streets isn't enough to damage a coastal country's infrastructure? water that never before came within 100 yards of the streets all of a sudden burrying them in 5+ feet of white water is enough to do some serious damage....but what YOU have seen doens't really matter, what matters is what actually happened, and that is a lot of damage was done, whether it looks like it on video or not......
