There will be a Cobra. The L is dead for now.

My "sources" tell me $43K is the estimated cost. Sounds fair to me considering the pricing of the C6 and the Z06.

No new Mustang OR Camaro is worth over $40,000 IMO. Shoot, over $35,000 would be hard for me to spend on one. And I still think the '03/'04 looks MUCH better.

I also wouldn't be surprised if the actual car looked much different when it hits the streets. All "future interperetations" end up looking relatively different that what is actually built. Same thing happened with the C6. I wonder how many "interperetations" were out on that thing - none of which really did the car realistic justice, as it turns out.

The 5.4 would definitely be nicer, though (although still kinda small).

If Ford makes it like that, it will sell...especially at that price!!! I think the front air dam will be a little different but other that that, its pretty close to the 05 cars. I also dont see them selling it for 30K. The GT's are around 26K here. You will probably see a 40K price tag on it. 465 hp...you get what you PAY for. I will keep the 98 until I see what this next gen camaro will be.

Yeah, a 5.4L is pretty small. The Ford GT really struggles with it's 5.4L twin screw blown powerplant so I'm sure the new Cobra will too. The tiny 4.6L '03 Cobra has a hard time making power too. There's no need for a 7.0L motor when it comes blown from the factory.

I agree.

To me all the new cars really do NOT look as good as the ones a few years previous..my personal opinion examples....

-the c5 looks better then the c6 IMO. c6 has some cool features, but its not the same to me

-the new mustang is just gross.

-The new cobra is gross, stick to the 03/04 cobra....its actually a mustang I can like...so thats saying a lot

-the 96-?? GTS vipers are still the best looking to me, screw all the convertable crap

-new GTO isnt as good as the old one (ok im starting to dig now)

ok thats about all I can think of off the top of my head, im sure theres more, im just to lazy to look now that im stuffed from lunch.

The inlying problem though is all the horsepower they are starting to make things come out of the factory with. It would make you feel stupid to know you put all this work into say, an LS1 to make 500rwhp, for some rich schmuck to go buy a new z06 and have it right out of the box with no effort required. plus probly many other nifty things your car doesnt have.....like a warranty

The GTS's will be released within the next year or two. The RT/10 always comes out first (94,95, than in 96 came the GTS, now 03,04,05, and most likely late 06 the GTS will be released as on 07).

Lastly, there is a LOT of made up crap, including the PHOTOshop of the GT with the cobra stuff on it. The only half/way true statements are the power output, as from my source, that's the only thing that's really known, and that is just what they are aiming for (although they plan on under rating them according to my sources). As to the power plant, that is also made up. Unless you are personally working on the project, you won't know what's in it.

I've only talked to one ford engineer who has INDIRECTLY worked on the project, and the only thing he seemed to know was their power goal.

What else were you told about it, other than the pricing (43k)??

1.0g & 120 mph trap speeds for 30k? HAH! yeah right! most of the 03/04 cobras on the lots here were mid 30's and some verts knocked on the door of 40k. it'll be mid 40's possibly near 50k optioned out to the max. that's my guesstimate atleast. not to mention dealer markup.

of course this is based on whether or not it has the 5.4l because i remember a time when people would've bet their first born that the new z06 was comming with a 6.4l so we'll just have to see.

Too ugly for me and that price can't be right.

And I was thinking of getting one.....at TRUE factory invoice. Looks like a 100 shot for my Z28...
