Camaro SS vs. Skyline
the AWD system in the skyline is really more like RWD plus.........there are sensors on the car that tell the differential how much power to send to the front wheels when needed, i believe it can only send up to 30% (i maybe wrong about that percentage, could be less). once the car has traction again, it trasnfers 100% to the rear.
its a pretty cool setup.........but when it comes to launching on the street, it really doesnt have as much of an advantage as people might think. higher powered skylines still get lots of rear wheelspin just like the rest of us.
id bet an fbody with sticky tires and good suspension cuts better 60fts.
I'd kill for the 'newer' R34 GTR

And i'd also be a god to all the little ricers in my area bahahaha

Now if I have this right the "R"'s are all AWD Turbos, the S is a RWD Turbo and the GT is a RWD non-Turbo. The Current Skyline (The Infiniti G35 here in the states) is available as a Skyline GT only right now and the S and R models should be available starting in 2007.
To further confuse things the car is also offered as a 2-door and 4-door and all the trims were not available through all the generations. (I think R32 was the first gneration of a GT-R).

The GT-Ss are smaller motors (2.0 on the 32s, 2.5 on the 33s IIRC) and single turbo. There are a few body differences as well. R32s are generally the lightest of the bunch (the V-spec model started in 93), with the R34s weighing more than the others. www.skylinegtr.com has a nice bit of resources if anyone cares.EDIT: Actually, it DOES look like it's LHD... wtf

I'm not bashing the ones who like the Skyline at all, I'm simply saying there really isn't anything amazing about it like the media hypes it up to be. It's just another turbo, AWD vehicle.
