You guys have experienced NOTHING until you've been in a 90+ ton destroyer with over 60,000hp doing 35+ knots chasing drug runners near South America while manned at a .50 cal.

imagine doing 190mph then you get a bad gust of wind under the front or something, youd look like something off the most extreme home video shows.

I think if I had a boat that fast id have to make some of my money back smuggling drugs or something, it would be very difficult to catch a boat like that.

Hahahaa...that is what some drug-runners think. I can tell you from experience though, when they have 2 or 3 destroyers running close to 40mph behind and around them with active radar, 4 inch guns and .50 cal.'s pointed at them....they STOP. We used to issue 3 verbal warnings and then fire a few "warning" shots with the .50 cal. I've only had to fire once....only 1 time in the many instances of our runs. The driver got the idea after hearing the .50 cal go "chug chug chug"...it's a very unique sound.

Those boats are badass. Speed on land is nothing like speed on water.

I mean no doubt it is a lot of fun, but i think experiencing speed on water is easily a few order of magnitudes more expensive then on land....

i mean lets be honest, how many of us own houses which are worth as much as these boats?

Al Copland in New Orleans is building a offshore boat to set the water speed record at around 260 mph!!!
The boat is 45 ft and is he's putting 4 turbo jet helicopter engines that crank out 4,000 H.P. each!!!

They manage everything for the multiple engine configurations those boats have. Oil temp, pressure, water temp, RPMs etc. On top of that there's satellite radio, GPS - you name it basically.

And not to nit-pick but I'd love to see an Outer Limits 190mph V-bottom production boat, cause as to my knowledge Reggie Fountain owns the V-bottom record @ a lil over 171mph.
