They are baer 2 piston calipers, and single in the back. For the 2nd gen it is a very big improvement over the stock. They are essentially the same as a 4th gen's calipers, so when I see people think there upgrading there 4th gen with them I feel bad they wasted the money when all they need is pads and rotors.
When upgrading my 02 SS I put the Baer Pro system witch is 13.5" front rotors, w/ the Baer/Alcon 4 piston calipers, and 12" r. w/ 2 piston in the back. The 02 does 1.1g's on the e-tech stopping.
Sounds like a great package on both of your cars My 4th gen has the Porsche big brake kit formerly known as the Prospeed kit. This is the Porsche GT3 brakes manufactured for Porsche by Brembo and converted to fit the 4th gens, 4 piston calipers and 13.3 " rotors. Works great at open track days

Its awesome to see some 2nd gen love! I have a 78 that is my daily driver, and it looks like **** honestly, since I got into a freeway accident with it. Its cool tho, Im taking auto body this semester at my college and will try and work on the car while i drive it... kinda hard, but I think I can do it. My ultimate goal is to paint it myself with a baldwin motion wannabe paint scheme, like another 2nd gen owner I saw.

http://community.webshots.com/photo/...89676620tLinVV Theres it is.

I wanted to do either silver with black stripes or a metallic charcoal with white stripes. I like the charcoal colored TTII's on it too. It has original 350 in it with 162k original miles, still going strong ( kinda ). Unfortunately the car has a 2.42 non posi rear end, and moves pretty slow My big big goal is to one day have an LS1 and 6 speed so I can get awesome power and gas mileage in it, but we will see how it works, first I need to fix the spray painted body...

My favorite is the early 2nd gens, 70-73. It might have something to do with the fact that my first car was my 71. I'm very surprised that there are so many 2nd gen lover here. My 2nd favorite would be the IROCs. They just look mean. I'll try to get pics of my 71 up when it's finished.

racehead - we would make a grate race team, pair of BB 71 rsz's and a pair of road race 4th gens. NICE
Just got 18" HRE 547's and 325/30's and 275/35 michelin pilots, wolfe adj phr, adj lca's and a adj torque arm for the 02 TTSS. Just need a 6 point and I can get back to work on my 71, It needs a trans.... has a blown 700r4, want to put a 5 or 6 speed in it. Dont you have a 6 in yours? Might need some pointers.

Yeah I've got a Richmond Gear 6 speed with some custom ratio's in it ( .84 6th gear ). It's a very close ratio tranny. It took a little work to get it in there, but wasn't too bad. Had to modify the stock crossmember quite a bit and cut out the shift tunnel hole for the shifter some. It was worth it in the end to me It's fun to drive. I need to replace the carpeting ( it's actually brand new, but when I put it in the car I had this old POS "looks only" kind of roll bar in it that I had to cut the carpet to fit around. Also I cut the shift hole out when I still had the M22 in it so the hole is mis-aligned for the M6 ) I also need to recover ( or replace with something better ) the front seats. Let me know if you have any specific questions on it, I'd be glad to help out

BTW I LOVE having both a 2nd and a 4th gen sitting in the garage. I'd really like to add a '69 R/S to the stable, but would need a bigger garage to house it haha !

The 3rd gens aren't doing so hot in the polls! Personally I don't think you can beat the looks of a first gen. They're a classic. I've owned a 71 RS, a 78 Z, a 84 TA and now a 01 SS and I love them all! Lots of people thought the RS was ugly but not me, and it was one of the last cars of the muscle car era. The Z and the TA were fun to drive, but not too powerful. Now my SS, that's a great car! Everyday reliability with over 400 hp and A/C, cruise, leather & a great stereo! What more can you ask for???

Well, I figured I might have to post up my 'granny getter' again, since it has made progress. (It actually has color on it that I like!!)

These are probably old news to some people who've seen them on here, bu tI do have ONE progress pic. Sorry I didn't get it with the new paint and suspension. I'll get to see it on Thanksgiving when I get back home.

Nothing is planned for a motor or tranny, but it IS going to be a small block with an auto.
