Never heard that before, it's all cosmetic at normal speeds anyway.
I just like the looks of the short spoiler on the Camaro better because the tall one to me more belongs with the T/A and it's gfx.

I definitely like second and fourth gens the most. I have had my second gen for 12 years and have loved every minute of it. I am contemplating selling it for an LS1 4th gen, but keep going back and fourth on the idea. I have been lurking on this site for a while trying to absorb as much info as possible to help me make my decision.
Here is a picture of mine.

^^ Man dont sell that car. Find another way to get a 4th Gen even if you need to wait longer. That one looks really nice. I sold the 79Z28 I had in 1999 when I graduated highschool, and I have regreted it ever since. You dont wanna sell such a clean example if you can help it. Nice car!

Thanks for the compliment and input. My gut always tells me to keep the car but there is also a part of me that wants something different. If I convert the car over to an LS1/T56 combo it will be a while since I have redone pretty much the entire car over the past 5 years. With the Holley Systemax kit (Heads, intake and 235/240 cam) it has pretty good power but at best pulls 17 MPG on the highway with the Richmond T10 4speed. I think now would be the best time to sell since everything is new an in good shape and there is still quite a few low mile LS1 car out there which is what I want.
Sorry for the long post!

I have a first gen, second gen and I have had a fourth gen. I love them all, but I now am attempting to make my first gen like my fourth gen. I have C4 suspension and a LS2 for it. the first gen is on a rotisserie and bare metal. But here is a few pics of my second gen. A 1980. Favorite has always been the first gen

You need to upload the pictures to a image hosting service like Photobucket and then post the links.

I posted a page or so back with pics of my 80 now I have a 79 model Z28 that we've decided to build instead of the 80. I know a lot of people don't like these body styles but I kind like them more I guess because of that fact. Newho it's getting a 408 big block and a turbo 350 but that's still a ways off. I've got to paint her first. I'm going with Black because there's no body work to be done except for the nose of which i'm replacing. The guy I got it from had it at a body shop and they had it ready for paint. I got a set of Weld Draglites 15x5 up front and 15x10 in back also. Sorry the pics are blurry they were taken with my phone. Just wanted to post up new pics.....Zac

I don't know... I think first gens take the cake... I was fortunat enough to build a 67 RS from a heap of crap into a SS with a friend... (his car)... They are the original, most aggressive, best style... Then I always thought it went slightly downhill... That I mean, not that it looks bad... I think the 3rd gens look plain bad... They were dubbed the american redneck icon... Mullet car... Then the 4th came out, and it was nice. Buuut, they seemed to pop up everywhere... Problem, you dont want something to become that commin... Then in 02 GM stopped that from continuing... and thank god... since now you dont see as many, the ones with low miles that arent beat into the ground have some value to them... And they will forever have a place in history rather than becomming something that needs population control... Like those damn mustangs .

I hope everyone that has checked in here with a 2nd gen is a member here...

A lot of nice ones that don't look familiar.
I've been lurking here for a long time, but mostly in the "For Sale" section. Now that I'm actively pursuing the purchase of an LS-1 car for my daily driver, I've looked around a little farther, and found this post.
I'll keep this one around to play with on nice days....
