Color-Lacking Camera??
Compare these two pictures... THe top one was taken w/ a $250 3.2 MP Lumix camera w/a Leica Lense.

The bottom one is taken w/ a 5.0 MP Lumix Camera w/ a Leica lense. THis is from the $500 camera I just bought. It's riddled w/ goodies...

Why does it seem like the last two were taken w/ a disposable camera?? Seems like it's lacking color qualities.. There are dozens of features on this *fancy* new cRamera...Mention it, it's prolly got it. I think I bought too soon. I found a Sony BETTER for cheaper!! WTF!!??

First off check the ISO on your new one. I would set it at 100, then you can adjust OEV and White Balance options. I'd leave them at auto, but for sure check your ISO, kind of seems "grainy."
Peace,
Craig.

The ISO Made a HUGE difference. I cannot set it to auto unless I'm in Macro mode. The SHutter and Aperature priorites, and in full manual are not available in auto.
My WB is in auto..
I took this last night. http://community.webshots.com/photo/...5486756bPeSmY#
I think it came out good.. A little shakey, but I was also **** faced..
I'm constantly messing w/ the EV. Any advice for the picture adjust Contrast, Noise reduction, Sharpness, Saturation?I have them on Standard. and NR is low.

The most noise you're going to get is from your ISO setting.
That night pic was grainy, but if you held the camera by hand with that aperture shot then thats sweet. I have to have a tripod for any night/aperture shot.
The last pic was pretty good.
If you left the camera in Macro mode things will be grainy unless you're up close like what Macro mode is for.
Looking at the profile on your camera look at these options:
Picture Adjustment Contrast: Low, Standard, High
Sharpness: Low, Standard, High
Saturation: Low, Standard, High
Noise Reduction: Low, Standard, High
Try leaving things in the standard mode, except sharpness, make it high.
Image Quality TIFF / Fine / Standard
Try the "Fine" setting. The TIFF setting is great for Photoshopping images, but eats up the memory card. It's like 10x the normal file size.
If all of these fail try hitting the reset button for factory settings. Then start messing with options one at a time, on the same image on a tripod if you can.
Peace,
Craig.

Sweet! Thanx man! I don't have a tripod. I have to get one.... I've been working on breathing seeing as the night shots are harder to get w/ streaks...
After I figured everything out on the camera, I noticed that it had two "Scene" selection modes!! WTF!! Everything is preset. I like tweeking w/ it better.
