I can't believe they actually got that much power that way! And who the hell would actually let someone do that to their car, Civic or not? I mean I can see if it was like 10 years old with a million miles, but that was an '05?!?!

I have actually seen this on a stupid kids Camaro. It was a older Iroc Z that he wired a leafblower into under the hood. He ran it all the time & called it his "homemade turbo". It was wired to get power only when the key was on. He really put alot of thought into installing it but it was still a disgrace.

Well as a engineer i can tell you that it may look stupid but it works. as long as the leaf blower flows more than the engine at w.o.t. then it is going to make more power. it is actually a good idea (not the leaf blower but the general concept). take a medium sized 10,000 rpm electric motor attach it to the front half of a centrifical supercharger (you would also need a small computer to match the electric motor speed to the t.p.s.) and you would have a supercharger with no parasitic power loss.
