you could have just backed up your statement with some info i likely didnt know about, or just said i dont know, you didnt have to be a smart ***, thats not helping me or anyone else learn anything

is it really crap--no probably not, is it a weak point in the motor, quite possibly. is the quality of the pistons inconsistent with the quality of the rest of the engines internals, yes probably. But i doubt its any different then the alloy used in the other LSX motors. so i disagree with you i guess, i say its just as meant* for power adders any any other lsX motor.

my statement from the piston material being crap stems from be blowing mine up on nitrous, after 30 plus bottles the piston gave out and literally just broke into peices, it didnt melt, it wasnt lean, it looks like you hit it with a hammer and chisel, my close friend, another board member, experienced the same thing, after calling several sponsors pricing motors and discussing my situation, they confirmed that they have seen it happen many times before, and the likely explaination is that the material could withstand the conditions and gave way, not due to detonation and or a lean condition. so is it crap --no, but it could be better, or atleast equal to the level of the rest fo the internal compenents

however if you know something i havent come across yet that makes these motors more vulnerable, pls lemme know im here to learn not argue

Or maybe it could be this motor is so strung out for power that it couldn't hold up to the power.

Coming from someone whose never seen inside the engine and probably won't ever, I guess what you say doesn't matter much. You would think some people would appreciate the fact we bought the car to blow it up and R&D some parts and ideas for it, instead nothing but tough crowd criticism, figures.

I think they already sent the engine somewhere to be built. With forged pistons, a cam and a healthy shot of nitrous, that car is gonna be a handful.

i believe the reason the piston gave away is 1 the new z06 has 12.5:1 compression. 2 they said that in the second race that they hit the revlimiter which cuts fuel and we all know what happens when taht occurs..3 had the factory tune and plugs...not that they are crap just the install and the way it was used was..just my .02 thow..im def. no mechanic

I ran NGK #8 with 14 degrees of timing, I never even rounded the edges of the ground strap.

I will be running a 150 for now on a tr6 plug, but you have me wondering. I might go to the 200, but there is one thing that is worrying me. not only the STOCK bottom end, but the fact that it is a STOCK BOTTOM END FROM 98! What year is the ls1 you are running trmin8r ? also the pcm has the stock tune, but I will be getting it tuned when the car is up. My question is how many degrees of timing did you have to retard to run the 200 from stock setting on the tune?

by the way, I already have the walbero 255 pump, and the injectors are 28lbs. The system that I have for the spray is an NX wet kit.
