I think I'll try and get some vids up of me shifting, before I put the car away. I'm pretty sure I've got both those guys beat.

Fully engaging the clutch (for the most part) I can shift real quick.

If I side step the clutch, I'm obviously much quicker.

I don't mean to beep my own horn. But beep beep

I've got a buddy that drives a mustang that's even faster than me. Side steps the clutch like a hobby, and bangs gears MINT. He's got me beat, but he's probably the fastest I've personally seen.

It's not about how hard you bang the gears. It's how quickly you can grab them.

Those arnt the same car, ones a 97+ ones a 93-96

The int's are different, I mean the actuall int. Look at the dashes. The 93-96 had the vents to the right and left of the steering wheel up high, the 97+'s had a totaly different setup.

I had the same prob after switching to the LSS...

Okay, I guess they aren't...I guess Both of the drivers are good.

EDIT: I went back and watched the craigdriving video, and the one I posted and they both look to have the 97+ dash, being both have digital odometers, vents in same place, and HVAC controls in same location... So I still think it could be the same car

Maybe you were refering to the second video that was posted in this thread??? cuz that car was a 96 camaro..

Cool vids!

Me personally, I don't think that powershifting makes that much of a difference in ET. If you can get good, clean, quick speedshifts (or whatever you want to call them), I think the outcome is pretty much the same.

I'm just speaking from my own experience, and from watching others. I know a lot of locals who can "bang" gears a lot faster than me, but I've also seen them "not powershift" at the track and there's no real difference.

It's not about whether or not you can hold the gas through the shifts and make it sound/look good, but about how quick you can get the stick into the next gear. Whether or not you let off the gas is irrelevant.

I thinks its more about getting the clutch to grab at the precise moment that gear is engaged. I can rip the shifter into the next gear like nothing, but if the clutch is still pressed in what's the point?

subsequently I think I shot my synchros cuz I shift to the next gear before my foot actually pushes the clutch in. unintentional powershifting i suppose

I strongly disagree Jon.

I honestly wasn't all that impressed by the first vid. Definitely some nice
work, but nothing to write home about.
