Default Windows MediaPlayer

ok guys i am sure one of you have ran into this problem & was able to solve it so i hope on you own computer. My media player wont run on any of the links provided to us on here for videos. such as streetfire or any of those sites. That will not allow you to download the content directly. i have called some many ppl for help but they just cant seem to figure out what is wrong its like the blind leading the blind heh over the phone... maybe someone with expreince on this could chime in.that had the same problem. BTW its wXp

The same thing happens to me. The videos freeze but the sound keeps playing. I was just thinking about making a thread like this so TTT.

All those are blocked here at work They're usually the ones I want to check out b/c I have dialup at home

yes its the latest vershion of media player. i can only R/C&S my videos to view. not left click and open or this from streetF i am sure it is somting so simple to fix to haha this is what drives me crazy

I get a green screen with sound with streetfire on my desktop, but my laptop plays streetfire video and sound???????????????????

Okay, do you have the latest media player (10?), do you have Divx installed? Do you have xvid installed? If you have all three installed, then you should be good with viewing any of the videos on the net (unless they are Quicktime/Real Media).

Try going to Tools\Internet Options\Advanced then scroll to the Multimedia section and make sure 'Play videos in web pages' is checked.

I use Netscape and mine stopped working about a week ago. Very weird that I can't view Streetfire or 'tech video section. I will mess with it later tomorrow. Maybe an update is in store...

I have problems with the video playing normal and the audio is in slo-mo..it's messed up and i can't figure out how to fix it

do you have all the codecs that starfire listed?
