I can't remember off the top of my head the exact settings, but changing the aperture, iso and something else, you can actually get both the background and foreground into focus (maybe not perfect, but close). That would make this pic look badass. Just my opinion, great pics!

so far, I have just shot in auto mode. My next time out, I am going to experiment with the settings, to see if I can improve the shots.

cool they look pretty good for just in auto mode you should check out my pics theyre about couple of threads down let me know how they came out i think i shot mine in auto too
