The Le Mans rules states that the frame and a certain percentage of the body panels (maybe all, I am not sure) must be from (or exact dupilcates of) the street car, and the engine has to have links to the road car too. Le Mans racing is my favorite type of racing so I keep up with it. So, this Corvette is a lot more of a Corvette than a Monte Carlo shaped sheet metal of a nascar.
The CTS-V if I am not mistaken started life as a street legal CTS-V, then underwent a huge transformation. Thats how most of the cars in the SPEED GT series are, I don't know about the Caddies since they are a full out factory program. Maybe Katech can clarify.

The frames for the Corvettes came off the line in bowling green, KY. The only other parts that are stock are the center dash piece, and part of the rear fascia. The CTS-Vs come off the production line.

I watched an episode of Rides where they covered these cars, showed them being built, tested and raced. Also the race team practicing for the pits and such. These guys are top notch!
Thanks for the pics! I wish I could have been there!

Road Racing is the best type of racing in the world! The Vettes best win at Road Atlanta, can't let those Aston Martin's get another victory! Although I guess it is good that they win one every once in a while, so they stay around the series. Sucks the only competition the Vettes see in the US is the Aston Martins. Someone needs to do something about having two different major road racing series in the US, it's killing field sizes in both series competition isn't all that great!

Thanks, I was pretty close haha.
One question, how lopey is the cam in that motor? I mean don't give out specs on the cam but I just wondering how lopey she gets at idle, since you never hear them idle on TV.

Thanks so much for the video. It was awesome to see the boys at work, hearing them roar out of the pits. I also loved it cause of the cars screaming by on track. Very awesome!
So you go to all the races? Sorry I just find it cool I am chatting with a guy thats in the pits in my favorite style of racing hahaha.

I don't go to all of the races. I was at Sebring and Mid-Ohio and I will be at Petit Le Mans in a couple weeks.

Very nice pictures. I have always wanted to go make a trip up to Katech and see what some of our grads do there in person. Super nice shop. Pratt & Miller is VERY nice as well. Thanks for the pics.
