But you must agree: 7.80's using a 183" inline-6 stock block, factory cylinder head, and factory crankshaft is VERY impressive also. You won't find many 7-second Mustangs or F-bodies that can claim that.

Now that I think about it, the 2 chassised Solaras from Bullish Racing and the Tacoma drag truck from Venom run 6's using a factory-issued 2JZ block and head. Not sure about the crank. Have ANY of the 6-second Mustang or F-body drag cars done so using factory engine components? Gotsta give credit where credit is due: Toyota builds a hell of an engine...

Just thought I'd share from both sides... I sold my supra last year... I had a t66bb turbo, 720cc injectors, gforce ecu, 3 disc clutch, big front mount intercooler... I put down 648hp to the wheels(with 3 guys in the trunk to keep traction, as it was smokin' on the rollers). I do miss it a little. That is a TOUGH motor. It was 100% stock internally with 80k miles, including intake, tb, cams, etc.. I roasted through 2 sets of 295/30/18 bfgr1's in no time. They mostly hold the power though.. just very soft. You could roast the nitto 555's as 80-100mph though. It was pretty tough to drive though with the clutch... on or off were your only choices. It rattled so loud with the clutch in(discs rattling), or with the clutch out(in neutral the gears rattled in the getrag). It was a blast at 40mph up or so.. you would never get a good launch though... always roast the tires to 50 or 60, or bog, then roast the tires.. My new car is a 93 rx7 with a ls1/ls6... 2750lbs with 450 rwhp.. vroom. I'm hoping it will be a lot more usable than the supra power.... and feel more like a go-cart. Still.. don't mess with a supra on the freeway

Correct me if I'm wrong here guys but isn't that the Supra that was on one of the tuner shows last weekend. If so the only thing stock on that car is maybe the block. She's got juice and huge turbo's and pulled 880ish without the juice and 1015 with. that's one bad *** supra.

Before your smart *** reply about supras this and that. Take notice to how street cars, not tubed race cars get it done.

That viper is trying to beat Marko's 8.3 supra , for the fastest IRS car.
I believe the viper is switching to an auto to accomplish this.

Chad has already raced that supra and beat the supras time. 8.2 @ 176mph.(switched to auto, shaved .5 sec)

Shipped the car out to houston, after being called out. Stepped up to the plate and brought it.

Oh, guess the mag I was readin is outdated then

That's cool though, would be cool to see if Marko's supra could beat his time, and so on.

Holy **** this is old.

trojanman here, i mean supraman, obviously has an inferiority complex. So, in an effort to bury his insecurities, he comes to LS1Tech and runs a search for "Supra". He finds a two year old post and tries to post a witty remark.

Mission failed.

I kinda think the comment about Supra rear ends not being made for drag racing would kinda apply to F-Bodies as well. Ours go boom pretty easily as well.

[QUOTE=QUOTE]

LOL. I don't really care for 4 cylinders or 6s, but I don't like hypocrytes or absurd statements either. For those of you talking about it's a race car so its not impressive , I would bet some of yall said positive things about the turbo Lt1 RACE CAR that just ran 8.0x and were impressed by that. It just seems that people always have biases against certain things they don't prefer.

If you wan't to go by the fact that some street cars run xxxxxxxx so this or that is not impressive , .... somone could say something just as stupid like.... Dan Millens car runs around 7.0x at over 200 or some Pro street cars run in the 6 second range so none of the race cars on this page running low 8's or high 7's are impressive." So basically to you guys, some of the faster RACE CARS on here like Big Ricks car, Harlans car, Wheel to wheel car, etc are not impressive, since some street cars run faster than them

Remember , it's your twisted "logic" not mine.

yeah i was there when that viper ran the 8.20. to my knowledge marko's best time to date was 8.42. at the viper supra showdown he never made a full pass. and i don't think he's ran the car on a full pass yet with the 1500rwhp. his 8.42 was done with 1100rwhp. i don't know if that viper is or not..but marko's car is a full stock interior street supra with a small roll bar. and as far as the vid goes...its not that impressive. msp's supra ran 8.90 and its still a real supra running on drag radials..which is what they use during the nopi bfg street tire class. titan's supra has also gone 8 flat.
