I ran the Supra in that video the other day on I-4 in Orlando. I didn't really start pulling on me until about 170 MPH. We then got off the interstate and races down an empty road. I could take him off the line and through 5 gears, but that car has a lot of top end.

I hung with him pretty good considering all I have is headers, lid, and loudmouth

Nice run, but a 7.80 Supra probably has at least 5,000 rwhp on the Dynojet since it takes 500 rwhp to run 11s

the chassi is a race setup...I am sure thats atleast a funny car standard cage to legally compete with a 7 second car...don't tell me any old Supra with a street setup can reproduce those times...

Well fellas, the car was on TV a couple of days ago and on the dyno the car has 1,013hp with nitrous, and 800 with just the turbo at the wheels. Don't know were you get the 500hp to run 11's, but top fuel cars run around 5,000hp and there in the 4's. Course this all has weight and aerodynamic factors as well. They said the motor was dyno'd at the flywheel at 1,400, but they were talking about how they run an automatic so they expected around 300 to 400 of a loss. Sick ride though.

There are some around here that have serious HP, but run some horrid times, with the exception of SW's!

As far as Top Fuel goes, those guys are approaching 7000 hp now, not 5000!

Well couldent see the sarcasm cause all the Supras around here run serious track times. Just trying to relay some info on the car.

I think the AROUND 5,000 was my intention to state that im well aware of the 7,000hp now days, but most detune for traction. Hence, AROUND

Regardless of the motor setup of that car, it's still set up for ALL OUT drag. Tubbed rear, huge slicks, prob. gutted down to a plastic race seat. If it were a street car, that would definately be VERY impressive. However high 7's are accomplished by a few Stangs that can be driven on the street.

Brad Brand, the owner of Atlanta chassis Dyno has went high 170's mph on a 10 inch tire, 3200ish lbs, and the stock diameter exhaust in place with his 347 Stang. This car has been driven on the street plenty of times, and made it to many street racing events for hours of fun. THAT, is impressive

I bet you that is not a stock rearend. Supras are not good drag cars cause of the rearend.
