F-35 First Flight Pics
Well I waited around almost 4 hours today to catch the first flight of the F-35. The flight was supposed to be between 8 and 9 this morning but didn't happen because of fog. Then they called for 11:00 but the FAA said NO due to all the commercial traffic that was being held up. So finally around 12:40 it finally took off.
It was a none military power take-off so it wasn't very loud but it sure did look nice! It ended up having some issues with the airspeed indicators so it cut the flight short by about 30.
Heres a few newbie pics with the new lense........
Lockheed's F-16 chase plane
Edwards AFB F-16 chase plane
F-35 climbing out
F-35 and F-16
Climbing to 15,000
F-35 back on the ground
C-130 taking off with some wierd contrails coming from the props

Man I miss the times I spent out at Edwards. Was there on a couple of short deployments and did the Skunkworks tour, even rode in the vintage NASA looking old smelly silver van and watched the Blackbird take off. I still remember the smell/sound of the old power cart w/ twin Mickey Tompson tuned chevy big blocks. Awesome pics, good shot of the C130 props.
