I don't see that the extra 95 hp is going to make the up big gap between them right now. If anything they may be even....but I still think that the vette will take it.

There is like a 6-8 mph difference in the quarter mile....easy.......and that is a lot for 95 hp to make up.

we're reaching the limits of the LSx block. Dont know if anybody has built a 500" LSx motor. So far the largest I've heard of is 455.

At least GM is putting it on a 6.2 liter, instead of a panzy *** 4.6

The new "LSx" block (i think to be released in february?) is supposedly good to 511 cubes.

I think as long as the vette is lighter. It will have the upper hand on the situation.

GM already has developed a LSX block capable of 511 ci/8.3 L small block. It will be available for purchase March of 07 I believe. Maybe this new block will become part of the Vett's future?

Keep up???????????

I should have elaborated on my earlier post of the Enzo-beating horsepower rating of the new Corvette SS:

The supercharged Chevy Corvette that keeps making camouflaged apearances at the Nurburgring is likely to carry the SS moniker when it finally breaks official cover sometime next year. Developed under the code name Blue Devil, the Supercharged V-8 is said to produce around 650 bhp in a bid to one-up the Dodge Viper, which is getting its own power boost. Rumors have swirled about the car bowing at the North American International Auto Show in January, but it appears now that it will be launched later as a 2008 model. Production of the SS will be limited and it's expected to carry a sticker price of about $100,000.
The Viper will not be in the same lb./hp. range.

The competition for the Corvette will need to be CGT'S, SLR'S, Enzo's, etc.
