So you're saying that only 1 out of 5 people have gotten to their limit and drove home. I'm not saying that it's something that a lot of poeple have done REGULARLY, but I'm willing to bet that more that 1 out of 5 people have "chanced" it at least once. They may not be proud of it but it happens. A lot of people don't realize how easy it is to hit your legal limit, and can drive home not even knowing that they are "legally drunk". RRcox22 is just letting you guys know what happened and he's not making any excuses for his actions. It doesn't seem that he's looking for appologies so I don't think there is a need for all of you to "retract" your appologies. I don't know how this turned into a bashing thread on this last page, but it seems uncalled for. Rrcox22 is a member of this LS1 board and he's letting you know what happened to his LS1. I'm sure he's learned his lesson, and by him making this thread he very well may be helping someone other board members learn this lesson "the easy" way. Without having to experience it themselves. I just don't see why some people feel the need to bash someone else for being honest about what happen to his car and providing some food for thought.

While a lot of people do go drink and drive...if you do and get in a wreck with no one else hurt thats good results, I dont WANT you to get hurt but it hopefully will give you a wakeup call for being stupid..anyways I'm 20 and go party I've never drank more than two beers in an 1 and 1/2 and drove home. I'll spend the night in my TA before I drive it drunk at all(then again I actually like my car untotaled). ITS AS SIMPLE AS THAT.

I know how you feel about having your car totaled out, Mine got wrecked by some pothead that ran a red light light in a tundra!

then I stripped it down....

Saved the parts and chopped it up for scrap...

GEE, as if drunk driving was going to turn out good.

The only good I see in this is that you didn't kill some poor innocent family driving home.

+1 for Drunk driving being ******* stupid.. I'm 20 and have known ~8 who've died from Alcohol and drug related things.

If you were tipsy and you got behind a wheel, you deserve a hefty DUI, no insurance money, and you need your ride completely wrecked so you DO learn your lesson.. People who luck out never really learn it..

Drugs are stupid and drinking is stupid in my opinion.. Drink a damn Cherry Coke, because you're obviously not responsible enough to drink.

wow... just got back from a trip to hawaii and this thread sure blew up.

far as my drinking behind the wheel.... everyone and anyone can make their statements as its completely acceptable. i was just showing the community more of a lesson learned and deserve and believe in punishment for my stupid actions.

....anyways the car is totalled and estimated ~ $15k to fix, possibly more. the claim is still in progress and it seems that i get the blue book value and if i have reciepts of any custom work i did to it then i get that back as well. thats probably around $5k-10k

...still comptimplating whether i should come back to the LS1 world

Luckly you didn't kill your self and more importantly someone else!! Its not worth driving while you been drinking

i will just update here i suppose.... i will be parting out most of the car if not all of it depending if the frame is bent or not. either way i know for sure i will be parting out the block and the rims/tires so i set up a seperate thread in the for sale section when that time comes
