Thats good because they are getting their asses kicked too many other places...The new Tundra is going to kill thier truck sales...GM has their heads up their asses..still putting that shitty 5.3 in a 6000lb truck is shameful

i dont think that's shitty about the 5.3 in the truck, some people honestly that dont use their trucks like they do down here in texas dont need a large engine to guzzle gass down. some people just like to have a truck to haul some small items in the back that wouldnt fit in a car and dont need a monster 6L, kind of overkill isnt it?

Exactly. The 6.0L should be an option at least in the 1/2ton for people that love their trucks like cars. Around here you need power to merge because of idiots sitting because they have no power and cant drive. We have mountains...and tow things up hills. Besides the fact the bigger motors get nearly the same gas mileage because they arent working nearly as hard. My 5.3L averages 15.2mpg and my buddies 8.1L averages 14.5mpg. Chevys new truck is better because it is a Titan with bowties but to have less towing and payload than the others is terrible. You wont see any ads about better specs. They are relying on rock and roll and USA to sell.
I want to buy a new Avalanche but GM wants me to spend $6k to get the 6.0L (3LT or LTZ only) and its still underpowered compared to the competition. Im not a GM hater...just wish I could design their vehicles..to have the tools and not use them is why they are losing market share.
Anyhow sorry to diverge. The new Z06 has no equal...and there is no reason for a big dollar high hp Vette to spank a (old) Ford GT and 600hp Viper...especially when $$s dont matter. Lets see what happens.

I am happy about the new badd *** Vette. Although GM is not making anything else that is cool. Look at Dodge, they throw HEMI's in everything any more. Seems as if GM is not worried about the performance crowd. They only decide to build a performace vehicle that the average guy or gal can buy when they are hurting for money. They have all the parts on the shelf to build something killer. 496 big block, 2WD, 1/2 ton, short bed truck and a supercharger and then they have something. The SS Trailblazer is cool, but not really a ground pounder and the SS pickup just sucks. This is just my opinion.

i live in Lubbock, TX (where Scoggin Dickey is) and have talked to the head guy in the performance parts. he also knows about the new vette project. first things first is that he said this car wasn't going to be called the "blue devil" but he couldn't say anything else about that. next he said that it will be supercharged, so we asked if it was going to be as big as the 2.6 KB and all he said was "i don't know" with a sarcastic look on his face. the one thing he could say about it was that it was dynoed at 700rwhp untuned.

I think an ls7 with a root style supercharger would be great. The sound they make is so nice. It would be a lot nicer with a 7L engine under it also.
Im with YOUNG on the SS Pickup, this thing would be a lot better with the LS2
