Aluminum rods can not take heat and stress like a cast/forged steel rod. They are lightweight and good for higher RPM applications. (I am giving a very simplified explanation on Aluminum Rods)
Al rods are good for roughly 60 to 80 1/4 mile passes. We change ours for every 50 to 60 passes!

What kind of springs do you run that can put up with that kind of RPM? And, for that matter, what the hell do NASCAR cars use that can put up with it for 500 miles?

We are 3175 raceweight and running a 400" combination.
Springs are from PSi or from LSM. Some of the best stuff on the market.
