It looked like they put that thing there on purpose... Like a jet fighter taking off from some aircraft carriers. Gives the thrust something to push against. It also probably protected other parts of the track behind where they were lined up. I highly doubt they would have allowed those guys to roast an actual part of the racetrack....
That was insane...the fireballs were crazy in the begining.

That looked more like a low 13 second run to me.
I seen a couple of those Norwalk in Ohio. The heat you feel is just incredible and they did the same thing there. They burned down the sponsor board behind the burnout box. Very cool.

Bob Motz comes down to Hattiesburg, MS every year to Hub City Dragway and races his truck at the Mardi Gras event. The noise that truck makes is just deafening. you might be able to go on www.hubcitydragway.com and see videos from it or find out when the next Mardi Gras event is.
