That was the first night I'd driven my car in 5 months and I was trying to get used to the power and launching it with a different clutch than what I previously had. I can't launch that car to save my life right now. Plus, I was getting owned by the Active handling/traction control. I wasn't going to take a chance on losing it my first night in the car. I think anyone can respect that. My car made 500 on the nose, and 521 TQ. Ben is over 600 and upper 500's IIRC. If I was an LS6 instead of an LS1, it would have been MUCH closer as this kit is routinely making upper 500's to low 600's on LS6 cars.

The two cars do but don't compare. Ben's car is running a larger motor, steeper gears, and has a VERY well set up suspension, not to mention makes a lot more power. My car is VERY stockish with the only major mods being the turbos/tuning, bilstein sport shocks, and an OZ700 clutch. I still have the 3.42 gears out back too (and am staying with them, 29 highway MPG with me getting into it often is great).

Top end of each car is actually pretty similar. They both pull VERY well up high, his just pulls about 10 bus lengths better than mine down low.

I've got an answer for ya Ben, give me a couple of months.

lol, I know man. I know the slaughter will be reciprocated once you get your Trans Am together. Although, I bet if we race from a dead stop (without slicks), I might get a pretty good head start before you start reeling me in.

Maybe. Don't forget that I'll be putting together my suspension while the motor is out too. And if I need traction, I'll put hte slicks and skinnies on the car.

Here's another vid of the cars. A flyby of the TT C5, then in car 1st-4th gear pulls in both cars.

And your point is??? I knew my car wasn't going to hold up to his. There's always someone that's faster.

For those saying my car should have done better. Put your own cars against a car making 100+ more HP at the wheels and is more set up for straight line and see what happens.

Yeah thats what was so shocking to me-the roll race. You generally think of twin turbo setups to be much more advantageous in highway speed roll racing and topend. Plus every time Ive heard of a TT setup the result has been north of 600 whp. I would be just like you though. No way in hell would I risk losing control of the car for the sake of an internet video. Both cars are very very nice.

Most people doing the Turbo setup also do a bit of motor work. Fastbird is still running with the stock bottom end, hence why he is at 500 RWHP. We did the roll in 1st gear, which after riding in his car, once it is off the line does pretty good in (not sliding all over the place as the in car video shows it doesn't). Top end on these cars are quite similar, if we did a kick at 75-80 MPH I doubt I would leave him like I did down low. If we each had a passenger in the car, or no passengers, at best I think I would walk slowly away from him, not run like my car did down low.

Yeah, that "roll" race was from about 5-10 MPH which didn't do me any good. If it had been from 45ish the race would have been MUCH more close. We did one but I admittedly jumped the hell out of Ben when I heard him rev up (He was downshifting, not hitting it like I thought) and jumped a few buslengths myself. He said afterwards he hit it but if he was reeling me in it was VERY slowly. Jesus, I sound like a freaking supra owner right now.

2 nice rides!

600rwhp > 500rwhp... bottom line. Once the vette gets a built motor... its a different race.

Give or take a launch and or traction, more RWHP will beat less RWHP everytime (give or take car weights ect.

A APS TT C5 is nothing slow by any means! I just have a bit more work done to the Z, and more HP as RealQuik put it.

Thanks man. My Z has had a lot of money and time invested in it. There's been years where it spent more time on jack stands than it did on the road, but I finally got it where it seems to be running good and consistant.

Fastbirds 93 T/A once he has it dialed in should be a screamer as well.
