I still can't believe some people doubt the visuals from this GT5 demo when the 2006 GTHD demo ALREADY looks that good.

Sadly, this game's not coming out for quite some time.

I've never saw/played the demo.
No doubt it looks amazing, but I've yet to see screen shots that compare, IMO, to game play. Ever.
If it does look like that awesome, but I'm just a doubter.

GT5 is gonna be sweet. I've loved the whole GT series. And from being on the PS boards these past few months I've accumulated some great knowledge. There was a post earlier today or yesterday saying that GT5 is going to be out early Spring of 2008 but they're going to have a GT5 demo out on the PS Store in the Fall of this year with more tracks than GT:HD and online play. I'll try and find the link to it and paste it here.

Ummm...

I posted some on the first page... I guess you missed them? Blue Ferrari? Two pics? That's gameplay from the 2006 GTHD... Take a look again at the gameplay screens... Nothing new, PS3 owners been playing it since last year... Unrivaled graphics, but only one track and shitty engine suonds carried over from GT4. Why couldn't they produce at least the same quality again with more development time?

And if you've ever seen a trailer of ANY Gran Turismo game, THEN YOU HAVE SEEN GAME PLAY THAT COMPARES TO THE PRE-LIM SCREENSHOTS... Polyphony digital HAS NEVER USED workstation rendering for their trailers/screenshots, only the release game console's graphics engine so it is guaranteed to the fans that it will look the same... This has been their practice since, oh, the release of GT3? Don't you people get it? Some of ya'll need to either be a bit more informed and read read up on some respected gaming forums OR trust those that know better... Because this stuff is very basic common sense and facts for the Gran Turismo tradition of developing and releasing games... It's one thing they are very respected for. THEY ONLY RELEASE PICS/TRAILERS that run on the respective hardware. People doubted when they saw shots of GT3. They were proven wrong. People doubted when they saw shots of GTHD 2006 demo, the best looking racer STILL out. They were proven wrong again. Polyphony Digital is not one of the game developers you want to bet against. What you see is what you get.

On a humorous note, one other thing you can count on them doing reliably is delaying the game a couple of times.

Damn you doubters!!!

Yeah, that sucks. But still I can wait. It's the best looking game out there and the best racing sim out there even. I can wait just a little longer for them to get it just perfect. No one wants a rushed game that doesn't look or play as good as it should.

It already dropped last week. $500 for a 60gig. And then you get 5 free Blu-ray movies whenever you get a Blu-ray player. So then you'll get $150 worth of movies since they're all $30 a piece.

^ Wait, so you have to buy a blu-ray player too, or the PS3 counts for that purchase?

Someone is smoking something good here. Why would I buy another Blu-Ray player if my PS3 is already equipped with one?

Graphically it looks alot like Forza and Dirt.
No doubt the gameplay is surely better, I'm personally not a big Forza fan.

at first glance GTHD looks a bit better, but after playing it for a while the other day, the reflections on the cars aren't as good as in Forza, and it doesn't have all that real time telemetry and damage modeling either, that hurts visuals too. I'm sure it'll be awesome for those of you who like that sort of game, but I've never liked any of GT games. Oh here is a good comparison link.

The PS3 counts as one. And it's anywhere you get it. It's just a Blu-ray deal, not store specific. I think it's a mail-in thing though and there's a list of the Blu-rays you can pick from, not just any Blu-ray you want.

EDIT: Here's a link to the Sony online store and it has the details to the free Blu-ray thing on the left with the list of movies you can choose from. http://www.sonystyle.com/webapp/wcs/....com/index.php

So it only took them 4 damn games to finally get Ferrari. If they dont also manage to get Lamborghini, redo the ******* horrible Casio keyboard menu music, actually give your opponents AI instead of ramming into you if you go into their preplanned path, and make it more than just a graphics update of the same game, I'll save my money. I by no means hate Gran Turismo, I just still think 2 was the pinnacle of the series.

First of all, in the link you posted yourself:

GTHD may look slightly more crisp, but thanks to the damage modeling this round goes to Forza 2.
The graphics are better in GTHD, HANDS DOWN... How many people here own both? I own them both and play them on a 46" Samsung 1080p LCD TV. Whoever says that Forza 2 looks better needs to get their eyes checked PERIOD. Of course not having all that depth hurts the game, making Forza 2 better... But what kind of accomplishment is that? A 2007 Forza game is better overall than a 2006 DEMO created with the outdated 2005 GT4 game engine? It freakin' better be!

Of course our 2007 Forza 2 game is a better game. Duh.

So... How were other racing games in 2001-2005? Kind of the same... I remember having the same problems in Forza 1 and being able to drift a stock S2000 by power-on-oversteer around an entire track completely sideways... Wow... realistic. So, Forza is garbage too, then, by that logic?

Guys this is a new era of racing sims with these new consoles (360/PS3)... You're seriously gonna compare a 360 game with an old PS2 game? That screams bias just a tad.

Forza's the latest, most advanced console race sim out right now.

In 2008, it will be GT5... How would a GT5 player sound saying, "Wow, Forza 1 & 2 suck so much compared to this... They were never great, always just crappy games."

The language of bandwagoneers...

I've always loved the GT series, and I can't wait for GT5! When I saw the vid for the first time, my jaw literally dropped .

I own both a PS3 and 360 which are hooked up to a 40" Sony Bravia 1080p LCD HDTV so I can also properly compare the two. I play Forza 2...alot , its a great looking game and has tons of ways to mod and tune the cars, but visually it doesnt compare to the GTHD demo. Does that make Forza 2 bad b/c it doesnt look as good as GTHD? Not at all. Forza 2 is an awesome game, its just that GT5 will raise the bar and set a new standard for racing sims the same way the previous GT games did in the past.
