The Dodge is a piece of **** face it! except for the Cummins,it would have drug the hemi and Toyota at the same time, but it's also not a Dodge motor.

You and me both. I looked at the duramax and they are nice and all but too many of my freinds are having trouble with them so I decided to get the cummins.

Well my Yota has 350K on the stock bottom-end and it still runs like a top. After I re-did the valve-stem seals, cleaned up the head and did the timing chain she get's around 30mpg out on the highway.

She ain't no big diesel but for a beater the ole 22re motor is a tank. lol

Been through 3 powerstrokes(7.3's) and a Dmax(all great trucks, all modded) but I have to say that my Dodge Cummins 2500 is BY FAR the best of the bunch. We haul heavy loads daily and the cummins gets +3-5 mpg and out tows them all(Custom SCT program,Intake,Exhaust,30 PSI). I have to say the dmax with the edge was the fastest but load them down and the Cummins wins hands down, thing NEVER quits pulling and has ZERO maintenace issues. As far as gas trucks go, well I really dont have an opinion. I Gotta add a pic...

Not to stir the pot too much, but I just read the the CR(consumer report) truck test in the September online issue and it was interesting.

The tundra was the top pick and "recommended"

According to the CR test results, the new 5.7 tundra it is a little faster than the diesel 2500 chevy and F250 when pulling a 7400lb trailer to 60mph.
Tundra 16.1 seconds, Chevy 17, Ford 18.9.

It smoked the 1/2 ton chevy and ford.

Chevy 22.6 seconds, Ford 24.1
These numbers do dispel a few myths.

I know The Tundra it not a 3/4 ton and not as great for a long heavy tow but I think this is pretty impressive.

CR's overall trip/mixed MPG for the tundra was 18. That is exactly my average.
The diesel F250 13, 2500 chevy 17,

1/2 ton chevy 18, ford 17.

CR did think the TRD ride was "Jittery".

For some background, this is my 3rd Toyota truck but it has been awhile. The last was a 1986 4x4 extra cab. I have owned GMC's for the last 8 years. A 1999 2500 4x4 6.0 liter and the last was a 2003 1500 5.3 4x4 Z71 that I traded in on the tundra. The initial quality of the Tundra is much better IMHO than the GMC's. Time will tell.

Say what you want about the Tundra, I purchased it for the quality and the power I can have. It is a monster on towing.
