reminds me of my accident. Its definatly a scary feeling of going over the handle bars. I dont ride much anymore, though if the bike was in better shape, id definatly be still riding.

That video makes me realize why I quit riding..

I laid mine down several years ago and was EXTREMELY lucky to live through it.. I cheated death about 3 times in just one accident..

I actually slid across the ground and my head and upper body just barely missed a car.. I went underneath the back end and remember watching the gas tank go by..

Before I hit the ground, I saw the car and all I said to myself was "So this is how I die..."

Me and a few of my buddies ride and a lot of people just don't pay enough attention to bikes. This video reminds me just how easy it is to get seriously hurt or killed.

Good vid! I rode for >10 years and finally kicked the habit after running into the side of a Ford F350. I was coming home from work at night and the guy pulled right out in front of me. I was going about 50 MPH and had less than a couple of seconds to stop. I regained consciousness after about 10 mins and heard him telling the police he never saw me. Fractured my right orbital (even with a full faced helmet), compound fratures in my right leg, dislocated knee (which still hurts everyday 3 years later) and various other injuries that required months of rehab. Wheelchairs and crutches SUCK!!!

I still love bikes, but I'll stick to my Z06.

heres one of my stories 7:00pm est im going over to my friend's, girls house and i going over a interstate bridge that is also a off ramp. im in the vary far left lane at this point and this lady gets off the ramp that has a stop light at it she was suppose to stop but in stead ran the red cut over 3 lanes of traffic and im the only one on the road at this point in time besides her. she comes in to my lane almost side swiping me i had to run up on the curb while still hitting the brakes. im yelling at her i get on the other side and shes scared and at the time is doing 5 mph and im still cursing at her. i wear leather gloves that have carbon fiber knuckles in them and i punched the window and shattered it. i was so pissed b/c i wasnt wearing a helmet(i know stupid), and know jacket or protection at all. after i did that i took off hitting about 130 down a 2 mile straight road ran the red light after looking to see knowbody was coming and entered the neighborhood.

and i dont know hpw she couldnt see me coming b/c i have hid's and my bike is loud, and i always ride with my high beams on.

That sucked to watch.
2 bikers have died within a week of each other here in Jackson,ms. And I know alot of wrecks are caused from bikers "pushing the envelope", but both of these wrecks were the car drivers fault. The first one, a car made an illegal U turn on the HWY and the bike t-boned him. Died about one hour later. Second biker was killed when a car changed lanes and hit a biker getting on the road and dragged him for about 100 yards. And kept going. I think he died before EMT could arrive. This happened this morning in Jackson.
This is why I will never ride a bike. People just don't watch for them.

A good chunk of the accident vids posted there were the fault of the bike riders, passing on a double yellow, taking an entrance ramp too fast, etc. It opens my eyes alright, but it opens them more to the the complete stupidity of anyone driving a bike on the street than anything else. They look incredibly fun and deep down I want one but it's just plain not worth it. It doesn't really matter whose fault it is, even a minor accident on a bike is potentially life threatening.
