Another artical claims that the only reason the Viper outperforms the 'Vette is the Viper comes with BETTER (not necessarily wider) tires.
If someone offered me either, I'd take the Viper.
Then I'd just sell it and buy a 'vette + blower + HRE's.

the margin of victory of the viper over the vette was minimal at best. A tenth here, a hundreth there. Then people claim the new ZR1 has to be s/c'ed to beat the new viper, news flash....the viper needs a V10 to narrowly beat a V8. I will take the Zo6, headers and a tune and bye-bye new viper w/ a ton-o-cash to spare. The new ZR1 will be the bench mark by which other supercar makers set out to beat. Hell, the current Zo6 slaps around other exotics and claimed supercars already, now the ZR1 will be 145hp more and lighter weight.....please, that thing will be unstoppable.

Thats a tough call on which to choose. The Vette does come with more and better features (HUD, GPS, TC, and a bunch of others). The Viper doesn't, it's simple, its raw.
I might choose the Viper, just because its more exotic, though the Vette wouldn't be bad either...

that guy is an okay driver but i have seen much better sliding from a my friend in his 260whp E36 m3...... the 0-60's i thought where funny if those where his actual 0-60 runs...... just white smoke white smoke white smoke.... shift... white smoke white smoke.......

how much will the ZR1 be??? like $120k? @ most? deal of the century....

I have heard the price will be near $90K, but w/ stealership markups, I would bet to see 110K. Still a hell of a deal for what you get and just the fact that knowing you can punish everyone is worth it. I can't wait till some psycho does a pulley swap,headers,tune.....yikes.....800+HP in a 2910 lb car....WOW

I really liked the Viper but after seeing 3 C6 Z06's in the same place at my local tuning shop, the Z06 def gets my vote. 1 was a full exhaust car, 1 was a cammed car making 545+rwhp and the other was the shop owner's car with a P1sc that makes 601rwhp on only 2.9lbs of boost.
Nothing beats a full exhaust, cammed C6Z on the dyno. My g/f watched it as well and said it was the "sickest thing she has ever heard"
I am talking her into a C6 right now but if the prices on C6Z's keep dropping I might have to splurge for one.
